Some queries.

I was unable to get those blurred background pics.
I'm in aperture mode but at every f stop, i wasnt able to get the blurred background.
How to i focus just on say a object 30cm away and the other stuff to stay un-focus on a S3?

Another thing, i'm going overseas and would like to take some nice sceneries.
Will be going tibet and there be lots of mountain and i believe sunshine.
What equipment do i need? A WA lens add-on? tripod?

Will be getting a Crumpler 7 million dollar home, so i can add accesories.

If i were to get a WA lens, i need a adapter too right? whats the cost to add such stuff?

Sorry, as there's 60+ pages and i dont have time to view all of them.

WA Lens = Raynox DCR6600 0.66x 52mm Approx $250
Adapter = Lensmate 52mm Black Approx $40 }+ Freight = Approx $20
Lensmate 58mm Black Approx $42 }
OR Raynox 52mm Black Approx $45

Tripod = Depending on what you want

Hi fellow club snappers, this is jueyi here. I'm currently using the S3 and i realised that covering night events with the s3 flash is quite strong, too big a contrast despite adjusting my flash level. Hmmm.. Are there any diffusal like objects for the flash?

Cheers

use the manual or P mode
1. focus on a object
2. zoom abit
3. press on the button just on top of the macro and control via the up/down direction

A steady pair of hands..only then you'll be sure it won't go crashing into the ground..now getting a Lowepro ex120 photo/video bag will be more than enough.

It seems to me to be a bad idea to check the price after you have already bought the camera. You may get disappointed, particularly if the S3 price drops further after the S5 goes on sale. It's best to appreciate what you have. It's a fine camera, and you probably paid relatively a good price for it.

To protect the camera, I would suggest (a) a bag (b) a dry cabinet or box. As for lens, I don't bother but some users will suggest some filter.

AS what the forumer had mentioned, a bag, a dry box and a 52mm or 58mm adapter with UV lens.

This is how i start off with :)

Suggest that u dun take those original accessories from canon, very ex. 3rd party wants will fulfill u requirements. Check on the Raynox brands which highly recommanded byS2/S3 members. They are be found at http://www.mcgill.com.sg/shop/ or ebay.

thanks alot mine is S5 IS but same with s2/s3 bayonet mount

but just newbies and try to start play with that one :D

Plastic will wear out faster than metal. The Raynox adapter is metal as well as the Lensmate. There are also OEM brands out there which are made of metal. If you intend to mount a wide angle lens, then you will need to remove the UV filter on the adapter, then remount the WA lens, then remove the WA Lens, then remount the UV filter, etc...

Very soon you need to replace plastic adapter as the threads are word out...

I did the same thing. Bought the original and then sold off bec I wanted to buy the WA lens and realised the need to remove this remount that, etc...

I try it out metal lens adapter, but the thing is wasn't seal(solid fit), i feel a little loosing feel on
my bayonet mount and that metal adapter, ( when moving my camera, (like walking) I can heard loosing sound of that adapter.
that sale person told me as, all of the bayonet mount adapter is like that
not very seal(solid fitting) in all type of S series camera. He also explain me as if very fit with 2 metal (mount and adapter) wasn't too good.

( but what i found out is, one of my friend Fuji FinePix S5600 original lens adapter (plastic and screw type) is very seal (solid fit) in camera.

So, my doubt is all of the bayonet mount and metal adapter are like that not solid fitting
(can feel as loose and heard loosing sound).?????
