but after awhile, even 12x zoom is not enough....

Anyone bought the Raynox 2.2x teleconverter? I am wondering will it work properly with S3. Think it will give alot of zoom. That will be very useful at the bird park. =)

Can powershot S3 take 4G high speed card ?

Even if can take, the video will still be capped at 1G right ? In that case, can store 4 x 1G video ?

sorry if qns hv been asked before.

;)

Yup..i can take 4 gigs.Only thing is it'll stop at every 1 gig which can cause you to NOT capture certain events which happens in seconds :)

In other words, once it reach 1G, it will stop right ? then you'll have to press the record button again to start another recording.

How long is the pause in between?

Have tried it, the pictures do not come out that good. Has lots of purple fringing, image is not very sharp. Lens seems to be in-compatible. The DCR 1540 works fine though, I am happily using it.

Thanks for the feedback. By the way, do you use the camera inbuilt flash with those WA or Tele on? Or you use an external flash during night photography? I keep seeing a dark shadow at the bottom of the photo. Its just the shadow of the WA (currently using the 6600). Hmmm..

How about anyone using Canon TC-DC58B 1.5x, any comment??

Go to Lensmateonline.com to see comparisons of the wide and tele converters for the S2/S3 IS. From here make your informed decision which one is suitable for you.

For some of us, after what we see from the url, we chose the Raynox wide DCR660PRO over the Canon original lens.

Hi Cerebus

I have a S3IS and the Raynox 6600 Wide Angle. I am thinking of getting a polariser for this WA. Can you advise the model for the polariser and cost? MS Color, TK Foto, .....would have this polariser I guess???

Any pictures to share with the DCR 1540? I am thinking on getting one too.

Regards :)

Hi I am currently using a polariser. But the problem is that it will cause vignetting at the corners at full wide. Just my personal opinion, circular or linear polarizer doesn't make any diff though. Maybe some of the pros here should be able to provide more details on that.

Btw, do you experience a shadow underneath your photo if you use the flash indoors/outdoors with the 6600 attached?

hmm.. whats the thread diameter of your adapter? if its the 58mm one then i believe that vidgetting will occur

however, if its the 52mm and u have more than 2 filters added to it then vidgetting will appear.

i think that the difference between the cir and the linear is that the linear only works at fixed angles which the circular can be adjusted to suit your angle need.

just advertising for my bs thread.. if anyone wants to buy a raynox 52mm METAL adapter i am selling it at a neg price over at http://www.clubsnap.org/forums/showthread.php?t=272094

Smaller thread size can tolerate more filter stacking then bigger thread size??:dunno:

How is it so? Care to expalin??:dunno: TIA:)

Hi Bridgerock

So far I have tried taking photos in the day with sufficient lighting, never with flash on. Just bought the 6600 WA recently so still experimenting. I will have to check it out and see the results.

Thinking of getting the polariser as I will be going for an overseas trip. Want to take some landscapes so maybe the polariser will give me some nice colors.

Hi, with DCR6600Pro, you can't use the inbuilt flash, use a slave flash instead.....

I counted at least 15 S2/S3 up for sale in BNS thread for the past one week.....what happened? rumour of S4IS getting intensified??

whats TIA? no larh cos got 2 adapter tubes what the 58 canon one and 52 raynox one...

I understand there are 2 types of Lens Adapter, the 52 and 58mm. But you were saying that vignetting do not occur on the 52mm adapter and if it does, its probably on the 58mm adapter.....but to what I understand, the bigger the thread size, the less likely of vignetting due to geometry, as bigger filter doesn't block light coming into the lens....:)

TIA=Thanks In Advance.;)
