Up to 200 is still rather decent lah. but the question is do you rather the pic to be blur (motion/handshake blur due to slow shuttle speed) or slightly noisy? Its really up to you.:)

Personally, I can still accept the ISO400 pic....those samples I posted are ISO400:)

No... only playing with exposure, apreture and shutter speed...
I tot push up ISO wil cause noisy to pics so always kept at 80 and 100....

OIC..hmm...will try it soon.... Hope not my cam spolit...

BTW u use dry box to keep your S3?? Any model you can recommend?? Search this whole side but not much info... thanks

BTW your child eyelesh is super long and nice!!!! He looks so cute!!!

:D :D :D

I am using Digicabi, AD-50, a 50L model. U can see the range here. Call them at 64510010 to order, it comes with free delivery. You can check out their promotion page in their website, it has a 5yr warranty when purchase from them direct.

Thanks for your compliment....but yah, my son has long eye lashes....thats the purpose of that shot, to record the lashes.:)

Hi

Fellow S3 users, please advise what model of tripod is applicable for S3? Let's say budget is about $150 to $200. Existing users please share your pros and cons of your tripod with your cam; for reference.

I am learning with my S3 and are more into landscape and macro. Recently purchased the Raynox 0.66 Wide Lens and are looking into the 250 macro.

erm actually any tripod is applicable to the S3

with 150 to 200 bucks you can get a VERY good and sturdy tripod liao

i recommend the SLIK brand

Hi

Please advice suitable circular polariser for S3. Those screw on type is preferred. Roughly how much does it cost?

Can this screw on type of CP be fitted onto the Raynox 52mm adaptor?

Has this been discussed before? If yes, kindly advise the thred post. Thks.

for a S3IS, even the $20-30 plastic tripod is able to support it already... dun even need $150-200... The camera is simply too light already... dun waste ur money..

Hi htx,

An standard CPL with 52mm thread can be fited onto your Raynox adaptor. I bought my 58mm thread CPL at about $30 iirc....

You can search this thread for most of the relevant S3 accessories.

Hi All,

I am an S3 owner as well. Some of my pix are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/leyo04

I've this cam for 3 months and i'ts a wonderful cam. My suggestion for the tripod is get the 100 to 150 range. Those cheap ones tends to move when the camera is pressed. (Not good for night shot sometimes)

I have a DIY dry cabi. Bought a transparent air tight food container and some dehumidifier. Bought the digital meter. The humidity level is 30 not bad IMO. I read somewhere that dark attacts fungus too. Neways, got meself a 10L container w/c fits all the other S3 IS goodies.

Hope everybody's having a good time with their S3 just like me. :)

no matter wat tripod u uses, slight movement sure have one when shutter is pressed. so might as well use timer when u taking nite shots. and i got something here to share regarding night shot. When using S3 to shoot a night shot, IS must be shut off. Reason? the IS function will tend to look for movement when there is no movement. hence the mechanism, will shift causing movement when u are using a tripod. :bsmilie: Use timer dun bnuy ex tripod unless u want to upgrade to Dslr later.

I think this is not true....I have been shooting with my S3 at night with tripod with my IS on (in fact IS was never off before), no problem. There was an article about what you said before, but it was found unrelevant....:) U can search in the forum, I remember it was discussed before.

Edit: I have found the post, its in this thread, post 928.

So far I had no prob with my S3 with up to 30s exposure....but now I dun have an S3 to test. Can someone do a similar test to verify? I dun understand why the control loop is so bad if this is true.
