It is using FAT32 system, should be able to....try it out. Must try writing, not just reading...

In theory, yes. In practice, some guys at www.dpreview.com have confirmed that it can.

Thanks tks for sharing info. Great, looks like I will hold back the idea of buying a 2GB and wait for the price of 4GB to settle down. :)

just want to ask how to save exif formats when taking pictures? i realised all my formats from all the photo shoots are jpeg.

There is no such thing as exif format for the file. All the S3 pictures are saved in jpg file format. Using Canon zoombrowser or Windows Explorer, you will be able to view the EXIF information of the pictures such as shutter speed, aperture etc.

maybe you were talking about raw file, iboey? no, s3 only saves photo in jpeg only.

EXIF is not a pic format, it is just the extra information on how you pic is taken, like shutter speed, aperture setting, etc.

Well, I prefer to have just 1 card and don't have to swap around. And since I haven't bought one for my S3, I'll get the 4GB when the price is more settled down.

I'm a pretty "trigger happy" man, so I always end up with lots of photos after a shooting session (will pick the good ones and dump the rest).

*I'm a amateur to photography, so it's better to keep triggering it than to miss it* :)

hey bros, where can i get S3IS around 750bucks max or below?
hoping to get it by friday.

I think it depends on where you get the cam from. Think AP is selling $750 and MS is about the same now.

true la...:)

The first week of my S3 IS, the lens zoom silently...

nowadays, it's a little bit noiser if i zoom fast. the lens is still as quiet when it's being zoom slowly or in movie mode.

there's like this "click click click click" sound going on. Though my G3 lens zooms louder but it sounds smoother like "zeauuuuuu"

Maybe i'm being too fussy but it does seem louder than when it was new...

I brought it @ $735 onli.... @ sls level 2 Song Brother n fing Allen Lee

:)

OMG! dun be the 2nd case like mine

mine was dead suddenly and remain the lens outside. after switch it on again, the stretchable lens didn't work properly and sounds loud. keep trying, if really have problem, go to ask for exchange if it still "new".

About two weeks old.

Maybe i should just keep powering on and off.. haha!

nah, when it's time... it will go. i'm under warranty for 3 years.

Davsmiths,

The symptoms don't sound normal. You may want to consider going down to Canon asap and demanding a new unit since it is still so new. Last thing you want to happen is halfway on a holiday, your cam dies on you and you lose out the chance to take your pics.

The USM is not supposed to be noisy. It was one of the reasons Canon was able to offer zoom in video mode. Even if it does not bother you with still pics. Your zooms in video mode would have the noise captured...:nono:

Zooming in movie mode is quiet as new.

Fast zooming is louder than new and in fact, louder than my old G3. I guess i will be heading down to habour front on tuesday after work and see what the service people say.
