hahaz.. how powerful can a flash be? if for e case of takin buildins like our CBD area, a powerful flash wld hardly get u anywhere.. u nid smth like a lightnin to illuminate e buildins. night sceneries often nid long shutter speed.. a tripod wld be e most useful. even a monopod mite nt really help..

I just realised something......if you need the flash, you have to flip it up.......it doesn't pop up automatically.......

Yup, this change was effected in S2 already. Once you get used to it, it should be ok. Gives you more control. In S1, when the camera is in auto mode, there is no way to switch flash off. It will just pop up and go off. Quite irritating. Had to switch to manual mode to control flash.

got the cam from MS at $760 last week. can someone kindly post a picture of the 7-in-1 bag which is going for $25 ($15 if you get the cam)? is it your regular-sized camera bag? i'm currently using a crumpler and i find that i do not have additional space for my batteries etc. might go back to MS to pick it up. :)

I took some pictures. But how to post? I don't seem to have this "right" to post attachments here. The 7 in 1 bag is a Canon nylon bag that fits the S3 perfectly. Two side pouched on either side. One carries my spare SD card. The other my spare 4 x AA batteries. Front pouch carries my mini-tripod and AV cable. There is another netting inside which I don't use.

Oic. I think it is good too.:) They save on the auto-pop-up mechanism and we gain extra control!! Very neat, classic example of Win-Win Situation!;)

I saw the leather bag, $25, not worth it.

haha.. i always use my finger to prevent the flash pop up.. I dun really like to use flash.. unless portrait with bright background

I just got mine from Harvey Norman for a total of $859.
o $799 for the S3 + two 512MB SD cards (1 from Canon) + dry case + one 4AA GP rechargable pack + Canon digital kit
o $60 for two years extended warranty + free another two years (total 5 years warranty haha kiasi)
Would have enjoyed a 5% discount if I use my Harvey Norman card but opted for a 24-month interest-free instalment payment. Worked out to be about $1 everyday for two years.

wun..the flash pop by a release latch inside.. even if the latch is release you only holding on to the flash by yr finger

But doesn't the flash goes off in the housing? If yes, it is not too good for the life of the flash......

no when u close the flash with yr finger the flash icon is in OFF position..

does e pictures wif flash look decent wif e S3? my S2 seems alittle grainy wif flash.. so, if e S3 has resolved tis 'problem', i wld change my S2 to S3.
am now lookin to get accessories.. perhaps e close lens. or perhaps a reverse lens setup..
