This power panner uses both a wireless infra red remote plus a wired remote for choice of control

In practice we have found the effective operational range for the Infra Red operation is as follows and may differ due to different ambient lighting conditions. Operation in direct sunlight will cause problems with infra red. (Note the included documentation may describe extended range but the following ranges are more realistic):
a. Around 20 pointing the remote around 30º from the top of the sensor (remote is pointing downwards to the top of the panner)
b. Around 8 pointing the remote around 30º from themiddle of the sensor (remote is pointing towards the middle of the panner switches end)
c. Around 4 pointing the remote around 30º from the bottom of the sensor (remote is pointing upwards to the bottom of the panner)
d. Around 2.5 pointing the remote around 75º from the bottom of the sensor (remote is pointing upwards to the bottom of the panner)
It is possible to extend the infra red operation with infra red extenders available from other stores
The 1m wired remote can be extended to over 60 with the optional 3m extension cables available separately
IT IS IDEALLY SUITED FOR:
* Close up work
* Portraits
* Event filming
* Surveillance
* Wildlife
* Exceptionally useful for portrait photography as the camera can be moved to a suitable position rather than the person moving to fit the scene - but it can be used for any other application
* Mounts between tripod and camera. It has standard tripod screw fixing points above and below the unit so virtually any camera can be attached easily on top and the panner itself can be attached on a fixed bracket or a tripod
* Operated by an infra red remote control cord (included) or wired remote (included)
* Remotely pan and tilt with ultra smoothness far more accurate than by hand
* 6lb weight limit - accommodates most camcorders or any other type of camera including CCTV, digital etc...
* Can be used with 4 AA batteries or 6v ac power supply (not included)
* IR hand controller uses 2 AA batteries (not included)
