do u guys prefer to upload to photo album sites like photobucket/flickr?

or blogs like blogspot... etc etc?

what are ur fav photo album site or blog site? and why?

Repeated query....

pls do a search. It's all a matter of personal preference. Some like convenience, some like privacy and safety....

Photobucket has safety features to lock your private pics. So does multiply. Blogs, etc doesn't. Many of my event pics, the guys posted at flickr ended up in sammyboy! U figure.

Flickr can set privacy levels and/or copyright as well...

LOL..Yawn...

TS, by the way some sites doubled storage purpose which we shouldnt depend on. Read the terms and conditions before uploading.

I highly recommend flickr, personal choice.

1. 'More properties' link.
Many great photographers leave this 'on' so you can see a photo you like and then view the exif data. Know what aperture, focal length, shutter speed it was shot at, and learn somewhat from there.. I tink its priceless.

2. Groups.
Many outstanding photographers post here and the community is already vibrant. I join groups that uses my lens. And SG groups, so I search extensively for a particular location, theme,or subject before I go for a shoot, so I have an idea and not waste time or to get more inspiration.

3. Contacts.
Add good photographers to your contacts and then view their uploaded photos.
No need to go browse tonnes of lousy pics.

4. Favourites
I very selectively adds pics to my 'favourites' folder.
They are those that are inspiring to me. Browsing through them gives me motivation.

5. Flickr only displays ist x200 pics, can reach that limit soon unless u pay.
Those who pay are usually those more 'serious', so less of those casual home snaps uploaded, which is good.
Those who have not paid yet, like myself, is also much more selective in what is uploaded, so thats gd too.

:)
PS: I imagine that x200 of your best photos uploaded is already actually a whole lot esp. for a noob like myself. Its almost like a challenge. For the rest, why bother uploading at all.. The more critical of yourself, the faster we learn.
But maybe when I reach x200, I may change my mind as well...lol:bsmilie:

^^^ What he said :D

Yes flickr is a great place to learn, upload your photos to your stream and then join comment and score type groups where members have to comment on the your pictures and leave contructive comments on what they like or don't like. Naturally this means you must do the same, but its a great place to learn the nuances of photography.

As for other members, adding them ensures that their latest uploads show up on your "welcome to flickr" page and I've learnt many many things from my flickr contacts and friends both from viewing their shots as well as their comments.
Just don't expect to get comments from them immediately after you've added them or even to be added as a contact in return, some display a disclaimer on their profile page that "they won't entertain contact requests if you don't actively comment on their shots", but if you do, they'll return the favour in kind on your photostream.

What are your opinion on shutterfly? i have a site there where i upload my best shots....

btw, even when you upload past 200, the image is still hosted....

anyways, the only gripe about flickr is that the layout is so boring...... which is why i use pbase as well
