What do you think?

First composition has much more appeal to me as the seocnd one has the eyes too low down in the frame. That combined with the face that the cat is looking down does not make for a good composition for me.

Haha very wonderfully captured expression :D

Just noticed this thread... here are a few of my own street cat pics.

2.) A lazy-looking cat just woken up by me.

3.) Cat brooding under a tree.. probably plotting to take over the world.

I like the blue background and the standing up pose. Would be even better if can see the attacking paw. :)

hehe thanks. Yea I would have liked that too but i was holing up the toy with one hand and using my other hand to hold the camera. hard to do it without a handstrap ..

is that a REAL dead rat? OMG cat's supremacy haha

Wah... This could have been a winner shot...

Thanks! I took this at the extreme of 150mm focal length, the max of my 40-150mm lens, at night, and luckily with my GN38 Sunpak 383 flash available. I was behind a fence and cannot approach nearer but I had to take a shot.. the pose by both the kitten and cat was too family-like and maternal. Looking at it makes me think of (my) mom too.

My attention was first caught on the mommy cat when I spotted her still carrying the dead rat:
(the black halo around her iris is an unsharp-mask artifact)

Yeah... this is one of those fact-of-life things we don't get to see often in clean Singapore.
This pix was taken in JB.

Would have preferd it without the green eye though. Direct flash?

Yup. Hotshoe-mounted flash, no diffuser. No convenient wall or ceiling to bounce from.
