Post your 'Before' & 'After' Post Processing pictures

This is a very interesting thread to read :P

The final digital edit is really pleasing, u have a great eye for aesthetics MGohzxc.
The isolation is achieved and more impactful than the initial original clutter

But it also leaves one to ponder if it is anymore of a photograph left.

Ryan

Hi Ryan, Thanks and sometimes, I myself also wonder and like uncle Ah_K said, this is a digital manipulation. What I can tell you is that it helps me alot to understand some of the things I do and learn and finally I get to understand how photos like minimalism in landscape is processed. I must say that it took me a long time and spent alot of time in photoshop and other software to try and achieve the result that I want and understand monochrome, light, contrast, gradient, tones and many more in the process. And I can also say this... looking at a photo like this is easy until someone try it. This is what I really really learn and still learning. And by myself. My only teacher is Mr. Google...:) Thanks so much...

lol love your spirit little one :) and you are right to always learn and I also agree one need not have a mentor to achieve greatness. Just gotta have the eye for composition and the taste for good editing. like i said before, keep working it, and you will go far :)

anyway here's a recent edit that i did in 5 mins, to show a friend how to do "HDR" like images manually from scratch in photoshop. It's very rough and not the type of edits that i usually like to do, but it shows just what amazing things you can squeeze out of a dull jpg file, with a little bit of know how.

HDR newbies should learn a thing or two from you!

Then i will stop seeing "End of the World" skies haha

btw: the first lady on the left leg colors is a bit darker then the rest of her body.

LoL the edit was more to proof a theory and very rough work lar! 5 mins can't expect much. thus i did not adjust alot of things to make them "correct".
In the case of the legs, can i blame it on the shadows?! wahahahaa

OT a bit, this picture is very sensual. The blunging neckline, the position/criss-crossing of fingers, the patterned make-up, the slight tilt of the shoulder, the smoking hot eyes... the "After" results just pushed it even more.

Good observation. I also find the patches of bright spots for the background rather distracting.

cuz i thought u need multiple exposure images to create hdr

no not really.
HDR basically means high dynamic range. you just need to lift the shadows out of dark areas.

A raw file typically covers 4-5 stops of light. say you shoot a properly exposed image, you can increase exposure by 1 stop or down by 1 stop. which you then save and now you have 3 images of 3 exposures, each differing by 1 stop.
these can now be used to create your HDR.

alternatively with lightroom, one can lift shadows, then increase overall saturation, contrast, dodge and burn, and bump up clarity, add deep blue to skies and should produce similar image style.
