excellent pic! the exposure is spot on.

Thanks :) Actually I am posting in the Buy&Sell section trying to sell this camera.
After going through these pictures, I am not sure whether I should? This is a very good camera. The only complaint is it doesn't has image stabilizer. I like to take low light pictures so I want to get one with IS.

what? u gonna sell this camera just because it doesnt have stabilizer? :( thats a pity.
if DSLR users without IS lens can live without stabilizer, i believe we can too! :) its not a must have, its a bonus.

hi sall! great shot there at the british museum! you've just convince me that the s9500 is a fantastic camera! i'm using it too but can't produce picture up to your level yet. after looking at your picture then i see the true colour of the s9500. thanks for sharing your pics! by the way, i wonder what was the camera setting when you took the pic of the museum, care to share? thanks! cheers!

Hi Gapman,

Glad to share. Actually no special technique, just some simple tricks. Mostly I shoot in "P" mode even, handheld. Just let the camera to do the job for you, following the tricks below:

1. make sure you find a solid, or stable surface to sit the camera. If can't find any, then lean against the wall and hold the camera against your body. If you have a tummy 8-) even better. Rest the camera on your tummy and hold your breathe.

2. use spot metering. Find an area in the scene that you want it to be properly exposed. Use that area to get your camera to set the auto-exposure - then use the exposure lock to lock at that setting.

3. finally compose your scene and shoot. You will probably need to try a few to get the right exposure.

nice shot... u didnt bring along a tripod? if u did u could have used a lower ISO ;)

Is $499 for a brand new 5MP 10x Optical S5600 a good buy?

S6500fd is indeed very interesting, but it will only be available in UK in October. Dunno when will it reach Singapore. Not too sure about the pricing as well.

Looking at the superzoom cameras in the market currently, like Canon S3 IS, Panasonic FZ7, Sony H5 and Fujifilm S5600 etc, at $499 brand new with some free gifts quoted by my friend, it looks attractive.

Should I wait another 3 months? By then, new models will be announced for the near future.

my advice is wait for 6500fd to come out
once it comes out, go and see if u like... if u dun like, i bet 5600 price also will drop...
win win situation, just need some patience :)
