Do you guys think it's still possible to find a Minolta 70-200 in Singapore now and how much?

the other time a 70-200 was sold for 3k in CS B&S :think::think:

now that lens is rare with the gold minolta plate. price might go up. heehe!

Possible to find only question is if you are willing to pay for the price....

Most likely you will be able to find the SONY 70-200 SSM (coming soon) faster than the Minolta 70-200 SSM.

not really... this is one of the lens I use on wedding photography. I know someone would sell, but the price is ridiculously high...

Very seldom Pro use Minolta for wedding photography and that's very encouraging

BTW, very curious to know the ridiculous figure

Hi....

I am a poor Pro so can only use cheap and GREAT gear from Minolta... hehehe... However, Minolta has some great lenses and intuitive camera body design... I have no hesitation to use it.... I was considering N and C system at one stage, but they are either too expensive or don't have things that I want... so I stick with Minolta...

The price was quoted to me is about 1.4x price of new one... unless u rich enough and don't want to wait... I don't think it worth that much..

agree that Minolta gear are great but disagree when you said you are poor. Based on experience, true Minolta users are the one who really go after optic quality and i see you are one of them. Thus i really admire you own this SSM lens. :)

1.4x original price is really not worth. Even the Canon or Nikon 70-200 VR/IS is a lot cheaper. Anyone, if anyone read this thread and knows someone/somewhere is selling the 70-200, just let me know. ;)

BTW, they (Sony lenses) are no longer cheap.

Collecting classis cameras? You've got greater taste then. :)

hi would the SSM works even with the bulit in A100 Alpha antishake ?
If yes how many F-stops can it correct ?

yes, SSM works with AS they are two different thing.

How many stops? it depends on your handhold capability. 2 stops is lower minimum, 3 stops is upper limit, 4 stops if you have super steady hand (SSH) hahha... I should patent that word.

i mean combine with Anti shake and now SSm should be more than that..
Oh btw SSH is already used
secure shell for remote login :)
Thanks

imo, SSM only means more silent and smooth focusing mechanism inside. it doesn't help to increase the effectiveness of SSS. only SSH will help. ;)

Yes, it is spookily silent, sometime I have to look at the lens focus just to make sure it works.

To be honest, I am more happy with the APO G HS because of the noise.
