The retail price for the d2x in spore is ard S$7.2k to S$7.9K. Is there a possibility that the price will DROP by end 2005??Guys any comments?

AS this camera is selling like peanuts all over the world .. I doubt Nikon will drop the price on it this year.

They MIGHT give rebates for the Christmas shopping spree .. but that's all.

Unless ... Canon drop the price for the 1Ds Mk II and rival the D2X by releasing the EOS 3D

Nikon's very fast this year... be surprised dudes... be surprised :)

A lot of things will be passe, long debated issues will be overthrown, a lot of people will be left speechless.

:) Enjoy the wait.

*stt.... * dun tell the other camp ;)

Cheaper price of the D2x is one thing, but know this....

THERE ARE OTHER COSTS THAT ARE INVOLVED TOO. For one... be prepared to spend a lot of money on large sized CF cards.

Don't believe me, ask AJ23.

Just a little leak from the equipment dpt of the company i'm with. Most of the techs there and the dept which handles the consignments with Nikon are already talking of varients of the D2xs with buffer/sensor upgrades.

So, i wouldn't be surprized if there's already a D3 in the making? But rest for sure that there'll be a rebate bonanza come end of this year for the d2x and all existing digital products as always.

Sigh.. i guess that's digital tech for u. :dunno:

As for the new varients, i'll try to keep everyone here posted, as long as it's within my "legal" means.

Don't forget the cost of upgrading your PC so that it will take faster than 30 seconds to open a D2X NEF :bsmilie:

Gymrat76, I couldn't disagree with you on that. ;)

You all go and try lor, running NC4 on a slow computer and see how long that will take you.

So in the end, will there be a MO for the d2x or not???ESPN, how??

Yeah there will be, the minute I get my hands on stock. :D

Very likely....rumour is that new Canon DSLR is on the way...and this should force D2x price to drop

if not...no reason for nikon to lower the price and earn less IF there is no need to right?

Canon releases one every 6mths, I'm not surprised.. :bsmilie:
