nice series..special mention about low angle shots!!

Quick Q: For the low light shots in inside the temple or buddha statue close focus or even shallow DOF shots which lens are you using?

Hi arjunsinha, thanks for taking time to look through my shots. I use the Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8 and 28-75mm f/2.8 most frequently for this series. You can either open up your aperture, get nearer to your subjects or simply use your zoom to vary the amount of DOF. You can also get a bit more bokeh on a full frame camera at the same aperture as compared to a DX camera. :)

Bang Saen (Again...lol)

Hi,
Nice photos. Brings back memories of Thailand. I particularly like the dramatic moody skies which you post processed in the Ayutthaya set  Do watch out for distortion of buildings/statues and over-sharpening (halos) in some of your images though.

Hey fudoushin, thanks for dropping by. Appreciate the critiques, will see what i can do about the halos but the distortions were intentional. I tend to use exaggerate distortion and perspective in my style of WA shots, works for some and not for others, still experimenting. :)

Haven't been posting for some time, here is an update.

Hey thanks bro, it was about 6:30 in on a weekend/holiday morning so no one is going to work hence explaining the empty roads. Come lah, let me bring you around :)

Umm... Highest accessible by public in BKK I think would be Baiyoke which you already mentioned. If you don't mind hotels then Montien Riverside Hotel would be a nice choice, since you will catch a glimpse of the Chao Phraya River along with suspension bridge, quite a view for panorama shots. Only thing is that on such hotels, the windows are usually solid glass panels that you can't open, so you'll probably need a C-PL to help eliminate those nasty reflections.

Ok cool, be sure to prepare some sort of protection for your camera. Most of the folks playing with water during songkran aren't very attentive to what you have with you (like cameras, etc). I dun think they will stop you from taking photos though :) There was only one occasion when they restricted photography from high vantage points, that was during the red shirt protest. Now there aren't any bans that I know of. :)
