Portable Softbox

im used to lightstands topple .. problem solved when i used 2.9m heavy duty stands..

heavy duty stands will also topple. I had one topple at Marina barrage once... forgot to bring my sandbags that day and paid the price of a bent shoot through umbrella...

Really need to have a couple of sandbags handy when shooting outdoors.

Sandbags are quite cheap. Just need to figure out where to get the sand. LOL.

The beach :p

I dun think it's good for your equipment as it can corrodes them.

er, just curious...does the salt matter? here I tot salt will suck up more moisture which is good in a way?

THe sand bags will not affect camera equipment... but salt does funky stuff to metal parts. And beach sand will leak from the bags and get all over everything and the car. I am thinking of swapping out sand with small pebbles...

Then back to the same question, where to get so many pebbles? :)

They got water bags also, if u wotried cannot find sand.

Actually as far as I'm aware people use stones/pebbles instead of sands. Can also use camera bag if your tripod does not need weighing down.

I am one of the few idiots that took the name literally and use sand.:mad2:

Buy from aquarium... or from gardening suppliers.

Interesting, can reuse.

Actually marbles (bakuli) work great as well, but I think nowadays they are a bit hard to find.

If u use an umbrella, of course the lightstand set will topple when a strong gust of wind hits it.. That's one reason why I don't really like to use umbrella(s)..
