Got that grip but.

Why can't Oly design the grip that you can use either one? 2 sections but you must use section 1 before section 2 can be used. Using only section 1, you cannot remove/ change the battery easily.

Why can't you just allow section 2 be used without section one for extended battery life?

Think he only wants to use the vertical grip, which blocks the battery compartment.

Anyway, I decided against the grip as it is too thin, and I can't hold it the same way as I do for the E-520. In the end, I changed the way I held the camera, and bought a leather half-case instead.

I caved in a couple of months back when I had to pair the OM-D with the 45-200mm for hours.

I don't regret it.

Question is cheaper locally or through US since international warranty. I pair it with Metz 50 and seems most of the time I am holding the flash as support rather than the other way round.

Tried it at Cathay today. It truly improves handling but I still can't justify the price. The Gariz half case does improve the grip as well but that isn't cheap either.

all their grip base are currently out of stock. I think they make these individually so may take a while. they have an ebay page that ships to Singapore, but usually the E-M5 grips already sold out from their main webpage and amazon before it reach ebay.
