they're small n cute n capable, and can give leica a run for its money (yah rite!) yep... they r the 70s compact RF. which one(s) do u own? :)

I voted for the Olympus XA but it only just made it as a 70's camera.

The XA was released May 1979 with all other models released in the 80's

Cannot vote for 2? Got a QL17 and a rollei XF35...

tingchiyen, hmm... i thot i set the poll to accept multiple choices, but must have screwed up... sorry! (any kind soul out there can help me rectify this?) do u shoot more with the ql17 or the rollei?

as for me, i used to have an olympus rc, sold it and now recently bought a canonet ql17 gIII.

Mostly shoot with the QL17-III, even though the rollei's supposed to be the better RF... like the all-metal lumpiness of the canonet! ... have even taken it for studio shoots, hooked it up to studio lights... the little guy can do anything!

in what way is the rollei supposed to be a better RF? :dunno:

Better lens, lighter, more compact, brighter viewfinder... supposedly. Personally just prefer a chunkier feel... and anyway, the rollei's a bitch to load, unlike the canonet quickloader...

ITs the oly 35sp for me.... Sharp fast lens with a spot meter to boot.... But its hell of a chunky, heavy machine.

I used to shoot with the 70s or 70s type compact range finders a lot.
My favorite is the Minolta 7sII with manual controls. I like the Chinese Phenix and Pearl River too. They are all the same size and can use the same camera pouch. The lenses of the phenix and Pearl River can produce amazing pictures.
I like the XAII and the KIEV 35 Minox replica too.

I have some even older compacts (50s and 60s) that are wonderful too.
In this catergory, I like the Werra most.

Yup, I like the Werra also. Unique and handy!

Cheers

A Black Yashica GX I paid $20.

two Yashica MG-1's
Minolta Hi-matic 7s
Konica S2
Ricoh 500GX
Argus C3 (before the 70's)
Zorki 5 (basket case for repairs)
and my favourites... Electro 35 (8 of them, a couple for parts and spares)

in other words... too many!

I got a Rollei 35B and a 35S.
Nice cameras fully manual.

Just love my QL17
Got it since I was 15years old , not 1 problem with the camera
countless shots,,,,,, but the metering is AVERAGE , not centre average
which you need to take into account every shot :))

I have a Minolta Hi-matic 7s and a Yashica GSN. Still looking for a minty Yashica GTN.

Got the Petri Color 35 + Zorki 6, Fed 5, Fed 2, Zorki 4. How come no commie cams in the poll?

:)
