i m unsure which country bundled the silver lens w silver body...i know msia and spore comes w black lens...

Went to PC Show on last Saturday,Olympus booth has black/silver body with the choice of black or silver lens 12-50.

Its more economical to go with the same colour lens than two diff colours. The black is more parsimonious than the silver for the 2 colour bodies

That doesn't seem to be the case. I spoke to both a sales staff and an Olympus rep on a silver lens kit during the show and they replied that the 12-50 is not available in Silver. They kept stressing that the silver 12-50 on display are prototypes. I even showed them the product page from Olympus Japan and they stressed again that silver lens is not available in Singapore at all.

Makes sense, couldn't believe they would offer both lens colors to go with the kit during the show.

That was false advertising on olympus

Even a few pre-release display mockups in local stores here show a sliver 12-50mm kit lens on the silver body.

That's so not true ! I bought the 12-50mm in silver when it was launched in Singapore in Jan this year. :what:

I thk wat the reps meant was that the kit does not come with silver 12/50 no matter wat. But yes, there is silver 12/50, but officially not sold as kit in singapore.

Of course you can buy the lens in silver separately. lol

I think what you can get depends on where you are. If I'm not wrong, Steve Huff got a black E-M5 with just the standard 14-42mm lens as a kit. You don't see this combination over here.

After having owned both the silver n black omd, i must say i very much prefer using the black one. The silver is serving as my secondary body n is kept in dry cab nearly all the time. Initially i did think i prefer the silver but black is now my preferred colour.

i agree with you. before owning one, i think the silver is retro and cool. after owning it, i think the black is more stealthy and practical without drawing too much attention. Silver one draws too much attention... especially for street photography.
