Either the 17-35 F2.8 OR the much cheaper 18-35 F3.5-4.5 for FF.

kitkai - are u referring to Nikon UWA only or other brands?
armchairsurf - 17-35 is generally gd for a walk-about too.. 18-35 is discontinued already.. just manage to see one in Camera Workshop but didn't manage to ask for the price..

Bro... 17-35 nt really a walkabout lens for FF bah? I duno about you but its definately nt sufficient for me. I still use a 50mm with it. HAHA
As for 18-35.... I heard it was... BUT brand new can still be found at 920 approx. Think Orient Photo carries it... Must go ask ard... they still carry it. Its worthed it for me coz its ultra light weight for UWA lens man and also I felt IQ wasn't too bad and met my expectations. Maybe I was too shallow in expectations (said this just in case I get slammed by others haha)
Not necessary Nikon... other brands also can... As signature says, I'm holding a D90 now. But one of my criteria when buying lens is it must still be able to work on FF later IF I upgrade in the future.
I know Tokina is good, value for money. But its DX lens, so not willing to spend money for it, after I clear my shopping list (which I think will be a long time to come)

sorry to say that... like that you don't need to buy UWA for DX body already... 14-24mm f/2.8G would be 21-36mm on DX body... 17-35mm would be 26-54mm on DX body... just wide... not ultra wide...
