i will get A900 instead, unless the new bodies has "features" that benefit the photographer's work in a big way.

Wait and see... the price difference may not be substantial actually...

To be honest, the more I read about the "leak" info about the it, the less likely I getting it.

Told you already mah, dun bother with this A850. A900 is for you!

Go for A900 coz of the built. Loved the Grip and VG.

Hmmph uncle... :kok:

With my skill level - I'm already wondering if I really deserve to use any camera that is above the 20mpx mark liao... think we are better off with what we have now... 12mpx-14mpx is already over kill... not really wise to upgrade to something more powderful if you can't make use of its potential fully... :sticktong

Hehe... That is why, I said I most likely stay at A350.

EDIT: But you never know, I may hit by BBB virus and bought the other one.

The A850 would probably be around 2.5K, since the suggested retail price is about 1800USD

Not sure how much it going to be selling here, but I don't think we can use the street price to compare it here. I was told, generally, getting it from some oversea countries would be cheaper price than here.

Its funny that the poll created without any real camera in the market and it is too early to tell.

Anyway, if it is for real, A-850 only worthy of a backup camera not a main, at least for me. If the price is $3k or slightly less, for $800 more, A-900 is a much better buy anyway... unless of course there are improvement on A-850 such as their AF speed but I doubt it.

Price is always a secondary factor.

A900 is one of the best bang for your bucks currently.

Hart

the only different between a850 and a900 is the view finder converage (98% vs 100) and fps ( 3 fps vs 5 fps).

and the pixels...

since the a850 is 2999 comparing to a900 which is 4000+.

Buying a850 can save 1000+ dollars. and now the sony a850 is the cheapest dslr in the market. I changed my mind (I guess I will upgrade into a850 some time later) a850 is a good alternative for a900

There is no different in pixels between A850 and A900.

Correction: It is the cheapest full frame DSLR on the market. There are other much cheaper DSLRs on the market.

Hey bros, i wanna get the A850 tomorrow, just in time to test it during the F1 ;) but any1 has any idea where can i get one at the best price? Please pm me the place and also the price, thanks man!

Just wanted brothers here to advise, esp those upgraded their A700 to A850.

Is there any significant improvements that you can share? Of course other than higher MP count...

After seeing some really nice A900 and other FF cameras pictures and what they are capable of, I am really poisoned to go into FF but pondering over the cost/weight involved.

However, I know some experience are really worth the cost/weight increased and each has their own requirements. So I hope some A700 upgraders can give their experience.

Thanks in advance.

Actually to me both cam works the same. Major diff is the wide angle coverage (24mm looks so wide) and better high iso performance which is usable for my standards up till ISO 6400.

I'm one of those dudes with all FF ready lenses and an itchy backside - some of the things that I really like about the a850 is that it's cheap, it's ff, it's high resolution - great for studio work - the added DOF, micro adjustment, reasonable ISO performance are deal makers for me. Just that even at that low price, my pocket size as a student prohibits me from buying it... :sweatsm:
