The main purpose of using a polariser is to reduce glare & reflections. In the process, the sky becomes "bluer", the grass & trees become "greener" ... In other words, it will deepen saturation to a limited extent and cause colours to beome more "vivid" ...

But if it's only vivid colours u want, we always have Photoshop for that ...

most of the time CP are use for lanscape shots, like to enhance the blues of the sky etc etc...

It can be use to shoot "deep" into water as such to capture what is inside and not only capture just reflections of the water

Not really true.... I use it to cut reflection + shoot char bor
