Haha! Seems no body push this MO. When do you need the scanner? I think I may wait till next model unless there is good deal.
See #10, the prototype was shown in camera show in Feb. Heard it will launch in H2.

Has anyone compared the Epson V700's performance against the Plustek?

I did read overseas forum of these 2 comparison. The V700 scanned image is much softer compare to Plustek.

For about the same cost I managed to get a Reflecta Proscan 7200.

A Switzerland based forum. You can also find it on ebay Germany and a few others based in Europe for a bit more.

I got one from bizgram. Testing it now, but so far seems very good compared to mini-lab scans. the bundled software is a bit of a pain in the a**, but quite capable.

i just ordered one from bizgram 467

Ya. I think ai u paying for extra software u dun use. Now i trying to find extra film holder

The Ai version has color profiling etc.

My initial estimate is that the dust/scratch removal function is good (iSRD), but the additional multi-scan etc adds time but not much value. IN some cases (like highly under-exposed negatives), it makes a visible difference.

For those deciding between flatbed and the plustek -- the size difference is an important factor for me. I can scan and then neatly pack the scanner and holders in a bag (comes with the product) and stow away in my bookshelf.

Size is also one of the major factor when I bought mine, thus settling for the plustek rather than V600 which I initially decided on. Plustek appears much smaller than I think it would be...

Size is also one of the major factor that makes me change my mind after initially deciding on V600..Am very happy with my plustek. Am certain I didn't make the wrong choice.
