i suggest you follow-up tightly on the recent updates in china, while seeing when to go in. some of my friends cannot enter tibet now and got stuck elsewhere in szechuan. it is hard to predict if the restriction will extend to other tibetan regions as in your itinerary.

Even without the recent situations in Tibet (and hence affecting ll Tibetan areas), Yading Reserve is closed to the public since mid-2007. This was after some violents incidents (supposedly including one dead) between the tourism management company & the local community involving disagreements in management & sharing of revenue. Daocheng is still ok- then.

Infact me and 2 friends booked with CTC to go Tibet this June during Natas fair .
So thinking if will CTC cancel the trip(likely no) and refund the deposit or change to other places like JZG.

they may shut down any external coverage and contact till earliest may or further. even if you can enter, having your big camera.... you can consider either going non-tibetan regions in PRC, or tibetan regions outside of PRC. if you give the agent sufficient time to make alternative, it may be safer for your trip.

anyway, too much OT. oki, you can consider putting up a separate thread to discuss that.

Hello, I like yours, so nice! and ... this is from me, HK

first of all, this may be more of a cityscape/urbanscape/nightscape rather than the typical landscape. and secondly, culturally this is quite a different place with its own taste mixed with cosmopolitan, british and chinese influence. but since HK is formally part of China now.....

Hi WillianD50,

Thanks for sharing yr splendid Mt.Gongga foto. Not everyone is as lucky as you to be able to capture the magnificent mountain in such clear view. Just curious which route you took to have such view. Care to let us know your itenary ? How high did u reach and any difficulty encountered (altitude sickness etc.) Thanks.

Happen to stumble upon this fabulous thread. Just been back from a trip to Lijiang, Yunnan. Will be postiing some humble shots once I got them processed soon.

So, here you go, this one taken near Lijiang, Yunnan. This is the Jade Dragon snow mountain (Yulong san), taken from the golf course. Was very lucky to have blue, blue skies during the 3 days I was there.;p

Now, here is the outskirt of the Lijiang town, with some small area of farmland.

Just came back from a wonderful break in Yunnan province in China, just wanna share some photos I took there, do take a look at them if you have the time...

What a coincidence. Just posted 2 humble pics which are nothing compared with your comprehensive coverage. After going thru' the slide show, I thought I have missed so much. I saw only one tiny bit of what you saw. I was only at Lijiang for 3days. Didn't have time to explore this fabulous province. I guess I would wanna to go again in 2-3 years time.

And thanks for sharing.:)
