Pls recommend a cam with these features

I'm thinking of getting a 2nd cam when I get my bonus...any recommendations for a cam that has the following features?

- Uses AA batts
- Has hotshoe for flash
- 4.0mp and above

Want the 2nd cam to supplement my C700 - it's long zoom is great and it's handy to take out on a everyday basis for casual shots, but for special occasions when photos need to be printed, the image quality can't quite make it!

Budget is slightly more than $1K. One possible candidate I know is Fuji S602. Any more?

S602 is a 3.1MP DC, with the added capability to shoot @ 6MP. Just so you know.

Oh yah! Hee, thanks for the reminder. Classified it under 4.0mp in my mind coz I read somewhere that its 6.0mp interpolated image quality is comparable to other 4.0mp cams!

A cam with hotshoe and uses AA batts .. quite hard to find ah ...

How about the minolta dimage series?

Yah.. i actually went through dpreview and tried a search with the specs you mentioned....

This is the closest i can come up with... Minolta DiMAGE 7i

But erm, the price might be a wee bit beyond your projected budget...

how bout the Epson 3100z then? hotshoe, AA batts, tho only 3MP. You may be able to get a 2nd hand one cheap.

Hmm, sounds promising too though hafta compromise on the mp...thanks Tweek, didn't notice this cam at all.

3mp print up to 10R still clear or not? The recommended resolution is 1800x1200 but I'm not sure about real-life situations....
