This was a 3 in 1 "alignment." It was a local guide who pointed out to the exact location and angle to see this.

my guide pointed out the exact same spot to me too!!! and other spots such as the one where your nose touch the nose of the face towers...

Here it is.. :bsmilie:

a good comparison between tele and wide angle. different perspective. care to share your focal lengths?

HaHa, we both saw the same thing. I had seen others' version of this 3-1 alignment, but they did not zoom it and the effect was not quite there.

This was my second trip to Angkor, both under so-called business trips. To be honest, I never really listen to the guide because they were kind of long-winded and confusing. For instance, he mentioned "cloudy" but was referring to "crowdy" In any case, photo tips/angles were really useful because we could never thought of that given the crowd, and of those people turning turns to shoot/frame themselves, and also, our own aspirations to see things differently. So, in the future, perhaps can highlight to the guide to alert us on some of unique and odd angles.

there is something very special about the depth of field. the girl is sharp edge to edge, with beautiful out of focus background.

the sharpening is especially beautiful at the edge of the girl. i never seem to be able to achieve that. wonder if it is the lens or the sensor or the post processing?

If you're using a fast telephoto lens and far enough from the subject, the depth of field will be shallow enough to keep the entire body in focus whilst rendering a nice bokeh.

I think this image was only possible mainly due to the excellent optics of the EF 80-200L I was using, and to a much lesser extent, sesor capability and post processing.

Here is my favorite picture from yesterday, it was raining but I think it helped make for a better picture.

This image is part of a very large trip report from Bangkok to Angkor.

Here's a whole series done in infra red by our very own local artist Mr Tung Yue Nang.

Pictures are a bit small but because they are hosted on my site for online sales (i can't afford to make it any bigger for fear of unauthorised download). If anyone is interested in viewing a larger version, please feel free to let me know and I can arrange for viewing at my studio.

cheers
