Hi Radiation,
pls post some unprocessed photos(except for resize to 600pixel), include shutter speed and aperture values.

Basically not much diff with R72 PP.
Pls read this:

Hi there,

Did you do your White Balance properly? You need to set your white balance using some green grass. If the Preset shows GOOD, then the white balance is set properly.

2nd, did you tried covering the viewfinder?

Maybe you can show the unprocessed pictures show that others can see what is wrong.

Sorry threadstarter, borrow your thread. I too have just started trying out IR photo and the pictures also don't seem to turn up nice. I have done the CWB and it showed good on the lcd screen. BTW using Nikon D50 with 18-70 lens and R72 filter. Here is a sample of the unprocess picture. Kindly advise on what need to be done. Thank in advance

Bro, I suggest we join them in one of their IR outing. I've been busy like hell but will try and join them. The best way to learn is a hands on approach, of course with the experts around lah.

Welcome to IR, starlet.

Your picture looks okay and you need to pp it using step #6 in Max's thread.

You are welcome to join the outing this Sunday.

Cheers!

Hi Radiation,

Like what Ark suggested, post some of your original unprocess picture, so that we can help you further.
You are welcome to join in this Sunday's outing.

Cheers!

Did you increase the Iso speed and add ev+ compensation? Sometimes it a must.

I use both the Cokin P007 and Hoya R72 for my IR shots. They yield slight different results, the Cokin being more saturated as it allows more IR spectrum to pass thru.

Like Ark mentioned, it would be good to post your results here for the guys to have a look. That would make it easier to analyse what went wrong, if any.

Starlet,

There's nothing wrong with your out of cam picture. It could be your post processing workflow. Perhaps you can let us know what your workflow is, I'm sure someone here is able to help

I suggest that you start you own thread, it's not courteous to hijack someone else's thread to post your queries.

Feel free to start a new thread if you have any queries. For a start, how about posting your post processing workflow in another thread so the guys here can help.
