Hey guys,

Wonder if anyone know how much it'll roughly cost to cla a canon 50mm f1.2ltm with light haze? Just a rough figure will do... Thanks very much...

anywhere from 60 to 200, depending.

canon 1.2 is nice! worth the effort to cla.

i can hear your next question.... where ?

Haha... Yes...
Another silly question... I'm torn between 2 canon 1.2... One which cost about $1k glass is clean and beautiful... Another plagued with light haze for $650. Which one is a better choice to go for?

i bought mine with beautiful glass for $700.

light haze can be cleaned off by a pro, eg. camera hospital (pls google), or philip tay (pls google also).

oil in blades can cause flare. minute scratches can cause softness to an already soft lens.

so make sure your sample doesn't have oil on blades, scratches, especially in the rear element.

cheers!

Wow,... nice.
I guess i'll check with both places on the price for CLA. Thanks so much for the info.

I've also got this lens, and based on feedback from fellow users this lens WILL haze over time, sometimes within a year of the last CLA.. oil on blades will also return in time..

So get a good copy employing the usual lens checklist, but I wouldn't worry so much about haze and oil..

mine's currently in CamX for a cleaning, PM me if you wish to know the cost.

cheers.
