I bought a whole roll from the mini lab I know of, 35mm and 120, compare to getting it from Cathy or Ruby, is way way cheaper.

some shops may very happy if you can help them to get rid off the ex stock.

Sam try your friendly neighbourhood lab first. If they can spare you some it will be hell of a lot cheaper than the shops in Peninsula. Used to buy these in Katong long long time ago.

if u are storing ur negatives/slides for long term, be sure to get those acid free sleeves. They cost a premium, but they are safe for long term storage. One of them is Printfile.com. Cathay is (was) selling another kind that cost $19 for 10 sleeves.

Do you mean the clear plastic ones we usually get from labs are not acid-free? Not safe for film storage in the long run?

yupz..........

i got some from Popular (Bras Basah) awhile ago. pack of 10 (each sleeve holds about a roll of 36) for about $5 - 7. pretty useful as i was long overdue in organising my negs - felt damn satisfied when i got it all down and filed away, with the negs scanned to cdr's too! :D

I bought some from Ruby. Costs $1 per sleeve. *ouch*

I have an Epson scanner with negative scanner. Somehow the images scanned not as good as photographs.

How did you do yours? Did you send it to some shop? Where and how much?

TIA

Just bought from Ruby today. Have Stock.

Say - what kind of folder do you use to file your negatives? Is there a folder made for such negative sleeves?

Thanks.

usually there are some holes at the side of the sleeves for easy filing.

are these ones acid free?

Robert - I went to Miao Laan (see Consumer's Corner) cuz I had about 80 rolls of cut negatives and from what I've read up in the forums here, it's cheapest at Miao Laan plus they've got nothing but glowing reviews. Personally I thought the scans were really just so-so but hey I'm happy I got them all scanned.

nowadays I like to get my negs scanned at Sophia Colour (at Sophia Rd, just outside Peace Centre) which is 1) near my workplace 2) excellent scans 3) competitive price (that I didn't know of earlier, pfftt)

juggler - i used a normal A4 file. the plastic sleeves have 3 holes at the side that don't fit the standard 2-ring file - I couldn't find an A4 file with 3-rings, so I punched each plastic sleeve (yes, individually) with 2 holes to fit the normal 2-ring A4 file. Phew, I'm just glad I got it all organised AT LAST!

I use this product here....

Kindof like their archieve sleeves.... but i am not sure if they are available in sg though

Popular has 3 Ring Binders that they call "3D Files", these will take sleeves with 3 holes. The binders are not the oversized types though, so you will have abt 1-2cm of sleeves sticking out at the sides width-wise.

i bought my clear 120 sleeves from Fotohub. 50cents a piece.
