Thanks for sharing the link and letting me know. :)

Though I'm more interested in the Su-30MKM, a bonus if they will execute a couple of Pugachev's Cobra manoeuvre during the acrobatic display. :sweatsm:

AReality, are you a official photographer for the race or are those taken from the grandstand? BTW, there is a plane spotting thread in the photo galleries sub-forum located here, you might want to post your photos there instead. ;)

The Defence Force Air Display Townsville is the eighth in the series of annual Air Shows around Australia at major Air Force Bases. These Shows are primarily a medium for recruiting, public information and promotion of the professional military skills and the ADF image. Although the displays are centred on aircraft, our goal is to involve and promote all three Services where practicable.

This event is a break from the past format. The display will be in front of ‘The Strand’, over water rather than on the RAAF Base. This will give us a wider frontage for spectators as we are expecting a large crowd to gather from surrounding regions. The big draw card for the display will be the United States Air Force demonstration Team, ‘The Thunderbirds’, in six F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft.

USAF Thunderbirds To Showcase Their Flying Skills In KL

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- The Thunderbirds, a revered air demonstration squadron of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) will perform their aerobatic formation and solo flying stunts in specially-marked jets during an air show here on Oct 3.

The air show which would feature the Thunderbirds F-16 and C-17 aircrafts has been scheduled to take place at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Subang Air Base.

"The US Embassy is proud to announce the visit of the USAF Thunderbirds to Kuala Lumpur in partnership with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF)," said the US Embassy in a statement here Thursday.

The statement added that the RMAF's Sukhoi aerobatic team will also perform at the one-day show and that is open for members of the public, for free.

The Thunderbirds, based at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada, regularly tour the United States and much of the world, the statement said.

USAF Thunderbirds To Showcase Their Flying Skills In KL
3rd of October? Doubt I'll be able to make it, it's a pity the Thunderbirds are unable to schedule their aerobatics performance during LIMA 2009 instead.

Awaiting to view your photos of the Thunderbirds. If you're extremely lucky (or unlucky), you might capture one of this. ;)

that is one great shot...

Even more fascinating when you take into consideration that the F-16 collided with the runway only a split second after Captain Chris Stricklin ejected from the F-16C Block 32 (callsign: Thunderbird 6).

USAF Thunderbirds Thunderous fly-in to Townsville Australia.

Yesterday's Thunderbirds arrival has already seen the event break a record, of sorts, with the squadron's 11-hour direct flight from Hickam Air Force Base, Honolulu, Hawaii, to Townsville, the longest of their current 'season'

Thought that this might be news of interest to owners of ADS-B/Mode-S decoder and receiver (AirNav RadarBox, Kinetic Avionic SBS-1/2 etc. etc.). :D
