Toshogo Shrine

This is a large site.
In fact, together with the rest of the World Heritage area, its a very Big place.
I thought I'd skip breakfast and go in early for more photos and avoid the crowd, but ended up, the place was so big that when I finished, it was 5pm and I had dinner only.

Toshogu Shrine is the resting place of Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate that ruled Japan for over 250 years until 1868, with the Meiji Restoration (the Emperor was placed back in power).
Unfortunately for me, several of the shrine's buildings are being renovated in stages from 2007 to 2019.
I knew about before going, but I can't possibly wait till 2019.... (or rather I may pay another visit then)

amazing shots!
My favourites are the 'View from Landmark tower', 'Nikko Autumn' and '20141105-DSC05546-2400'!
All shot with legacy lenses?

Thanks :)
Glad you liked the shots.

I brought the Voigtlander 12/5.6, Pentax K24/2.8; K50/1.2 and Pentax FA135/2.8.
A Sigma DP1m as a backup camera.
So yes, mainly legacy lenses.

Thanks for the encouragement. :)

I really screwed up my planing actually.
The mountains in the Lake Chuzenji shots are all red if the timing is right.
Too bad I had thought that the autumn reds would hold for 3 weeks, they probably held only for 2. :D
