There falls apart the magic of legacy glass... ;) The SEL35F18 looks sharper.

yeah it is sharper hehe could be my focusing with legacy lens as I was using the peaking and LCD due to awkward angle I am taking the photo whilst the SEL was using AF... but the SEl35 really is a good lens lolz

or maybe I was drunk already after drinking the Soju

Maybe I should get a SEL35F18 too finally... Did you get yours locally (and for how much)?

one more for the road for this under estimated SEL35f1.8

Both taken wide open no flash use (spot metering I think) and ISO1600 This little lens can deliver :)

got it mine bro AT HK last Dec price less than 100SGD cheaper in HK but lose out 3months extra warranty if you register locally bought lens... I think Sony really make sure the pricing now is almost the same globally.

Haha, just came back from HK about two weeks ago. Well, maybe I will order it in Japan. I will fly over at the end of this month.

Hey buying lens in Japan is awesome.... I heard they some brands has two type of the same lens one for export one for Local market and I heard those for local market has better quality... I cant confirm this but heard it a lot in CS :-)

Well. U haf d cv asph2 35 n I haf d lux pre asph 35. I think its time he should replace d cron 50, even my zeiss 50 planar is sharper than it.

Yeah. D SEL 35 is sharper than d cron R 50. A good lens by Sony. Not all legacy glasses perform worse than d SEL 35 though. My zeiss planar 50 easily is sharper than d SEL 35 and gives better Bokeh too. Not to mention the renowned 3D pop tat d SEL 35 can't replicate. Keke

I'm pretty sure that's just a myth. Sometimes they come from different assembly lines for different markets but that doesn't make them better. Especially with lenses it's always a gamble anyway.

I think last time I got quotes about $545 for the Sony here... In Japan it goes for about $470 now. Not a huge difference when you consider you lose the warranty.

PS: Btw are Sony lens boxes sealed in HK? :)

in Hk bro must only buy at those well known shops like fortress etc others I am a bit hesitant... Yep when I got the lens they cut the seal in front of me and show me the items while the guys change the warranty to tourist I was molesting the lens hehe

The only thing I bought in HK was the Sony VCL-ECF1 fisheye adaptor for the E 16mm F2.8. :P Who would have thought I buy a toy like that but it's a very fun lens in the city. What I really like is the AF for close-ups compared to the Samyang. Currently the VCL-ECF1 is attached permanently to my NEX. :)

Your youngest girl really can pose, bro... U can groom her up next time... But this lens is really one of the best in the E mount range. Seems no one is posting much on the 10-18 E mount? It's supposed to be very good too... One thing abt the NEX 7 though, the weakness on high ISO is evident, looking at the noise level at 1600 ( u did NR rite? LOL) :bsmilie:

yeah did some light NR using LR as I set my body NR the lowest you can and at ISo1600 can start to show sign of noise I dont want the in body NR as it's too aggressive in extreme situation and details to me more important
