Hi all, I recently got my Nex 7 and trying to use the in-built flash and the external flash HVL-F20AM, but the fastest shutter speed were set to 1/160 everytime i turn the flash on. What if I want to shoot with flash faster than that?
Getting a better external flash helps?

F20am does not has HSS capability..

model F36am and above does support HSS..

Managed to squeeze a decent shot out of my "just not pro enough" NEX-7 yesterday . . .

I'm always amazed by claims that there aren't enough lenses for NEX. One of the strengths of the system is that you can slap almost any kind of glass on the front of this camera, in this case a 26-year old Pentax-A* 300mm f/4, a lightweight, short-barrel (850g, 132mm) telephoto that pairs well ergonomically with the NEX-7.

A couple more from my "just not pro enough" NEX-7, this time paired with a 34-year-old Leica R 100mm f/4.

The lenses & photographer make d difference. Pro enuff to fully resolve d 24MP "not so pro" NEX 7's sensor. LOL.

LOL a pro needs 2 Pentax K-5s and a tree to climb to take photos of passer-bys

Nice series of photos from the "just not pro enough" NEX-7, tntrue :)
Like this one in particular.

Indeed poisonous thread

Now I am torn between the Nex 7 and Olympus omd-em5

I am not a pro on sensor size stuff, but I suppose the aps-c sensor on the nex7 will have a better edge over the omd's 4/3 sensor :dunno:
