Does the VR work?

the vr does not work, no electrical contacts on the adaptor.

nex 7 has a more substantial grip, so i guess it makes it easier. the tri navi also make it faster to change settings i guess.

there are 2 versions of nikon to nex adapter. for lenses with out the aperture ring, need to get the adapter with a pin/screw that helps to adjust the lenses' aperture blade.

you can see it here in this photo (top left corner). sometimes the screw might be too far in, you'll need to fine tune it, to prevent it from hitting any glass elements tat protrude too far back.

NEX - NIKON(G) adaptor

the G type adaptor has a friction ring that can hold the Aperture openat step-less rotation.
You can see from the previous page the ring with "lock-open" text.

for me gotta use either a tripod or monopod mounted on the collar of the 70-200.

i nearly drop my cams and lense the other days.
i can not balance and handled a nex5n + 70-200......

time to upgrade to nex7 maybe hahahahhaha

as intosite mentioned, there's 2 types of nikon adapters, i bought the one with the tab that can slide to open up the aperture.

I bought it from a forumer. Basically, I just used the search function with "WTS Contax 90mm" and it found all the previous B&S threads. I PMed the forumer and he still had the lens. I got it within 24 hours of asking. I bought the Kipon Contax to NEX adapter from CHIIF in Peninsular Plaza.

i checked just now, it's already in Sony Singapore website... and yeah, retail price is $449... a bit pricey... but i really want this lens!
