[noob] bros, may i know how u guys do nex5n exposure >30secs?
like i want to setup tripod, let cam expose for 1 min itself.

i usually do long exposure on tripod with 2/10 secs delay shutter... so that the cam will completely settle down after i adjust the angle.
if in BULB mode, when press shutter button, camera shale liao lor...?

have order an 3rd party IR remote, but still waiting for it to ship...

You will need the remote commander which will work as infra red commander. You will need to trigger it in the right side if the camera , if it's in built mode , just press the shutter button on the remote and only let go after you get the exposure timing you want .

I haven used the third party ones remote before but it should be able to work . I gotten the original remote as I am using it for my other alphas dslrs as well.

There is a setting for remote, i believed that setting is beside the 2,10 sec timer. If you do not enable the remote setting, it wont work. It took me quite some time to figure that out so just post to share.

ah? the 3rd party IR remote got a button,
where in BULB mode,
1st press -> shutter open
2nd press -> shutter close

no need keep pressing wor...

when use remote, must switch to remote mode also.

You did it, congrats!
Lightning is 1 scene I always wanted to take, but never got the opportunity.

Ya I think is every photographer's dream to take a lightning scene. Thanks to that stormy night.
