just happen to pass by ;)

I tin its call HDR...=)

Haha... yes it's a form of HDR, just that no tone-mapping is involved. THe picture has more natural tones and doesn't have the typically garish HDR'ed look.

Here are a few more pics from the Singapore Biennale exhibition. LX3 as usual. Hope you like =)

This picture is of the exhibit "Address (Project: Another Country)" by Aquilizan, Afredo Juan and Gaudinez-Aquilizan, Maria Isabel. Kinda shows how wide the LX3's lens is, cos the room was quite cramped and even with 24mm i had to step to the edge of the room.

This picture is of the exhibit "The Dancer" by Tan, Truong.. Also an example of the LX3's strength in wide-angle.

"One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Chong, Heman. Also known as the Emo Wall. Shot at 60mm equiv, toned black and white in Photoshop. Will be printing in Endura Metallic paper. See how it goes =)

More pix in the next post!

"Felice Varini Project: 'Drill Hall'" by Varini, Felice (like duh right...)
Had to get into exactly the right place for all the lines to line-up. Ultrawideangle shot. Barely could fit it all in with the lx3.

"Stone to fill the Sky" by Zhan Wang. Amazing stuff. Uses magnetic technology to keep a steel rock floating and spinning.

"Swing" by Tse, Su-Mei.

Now for two miscellaneous shots =P

Hello there =)
Okae... 3 exposure merge means that I take 3 pictures with relative exposure values of -1, 0 and +1. For example, 3 pics with shutter speed 1/1000 (dark), 1/500 (middle), 1/250 (bright) and merge them using software to form one image.

The reason why I do this is because most cameras (including LX3) are unable to capture the entire brightness range of a scene, often they sacrifice the highlights (seen those completely white skies) or the shadows (unintentionally-silouhetted people) in a picture. By merging 3 exposures in this manner, i am able to capture a brightness range two stops (4x) higher than if I hadn't.

Of course, this also means that any movement in those 3 frames will be shown as a blur.

Cheers =)

Thanks for the explanation. :D

Timberwolf, very nice pictures from the Singapore Biennale.:thumbsup:

Thanks for sharing.

Just switched from the canon G9 and got the LX3 for the 1st day as long time user of the canon G series I must say it was a "break up" well worth it. For the following reasons

1) Aspect ratios more creativity allowed

2) 24mm with capabilities to go even wider!

3) Great colors and functions ease of usage

4) f2 fast lens!

5) Size

6) Lastly and most impt the ability to manipulate the files in PS with out much data lost ie: I reckon the ccd it uses is pretty damm good.

The only advantages of a G9 are

1) Faster start up

2) Looks more "Man" with all the range finder lookalike dials

Here's a test shot I did with the 16:9 ratio manipulated wildly with PS! Tons of layers and adjustments posting both original and end image.

Just to share some of my LX3 shots, love the 16:9 aspect for some creative options it can offer...
