Hi, i'm a newbie to photography and just bought the LX3. Do I need to get lens and adapter for the camera or use it as it is?

LX3 is a very versatile and good camera as it is.
Since you just got it, use it & play with it as often as you can for a few weeks/months first.

Later on, when more sure of the areas (eg. landscape, night, macro) that you're interested in, then get the respective equipment like tripod, macro-lens, filters/adapter etc.

Of cos you can get accessories like casing, hand strap, LCD protector etc first if you like ;)

Talked about it under the events subforum, anyways, there is a competition (Legendary Moments) specially for LX3 users in the LX5 microsite, do take a look!

LX3 is a good camera. I personally like the vivid colours. :D

Was at KL some time earlier this year and the sky was really bright & blue... :)

hmm.. how about its picture under low light ? for example, in a wedding dinner with dim lights.

Hi Moochi, LX3 once u open ur package u can use it as it is already. No need lens OR adapter, essential action is - please go through the user manual though it makes me sleepy too ... ^^ enjoy it u will love it. Go to the sub forums in Panasonic, u can find the accessories of LX3 .... if u intend to buy and explore LX3 more.

Depends on situation but in general LX3 in night mode, dark condition works fine. If u wan to have a better photo in dim condition then u need to increase shutter speed or ISO level. For one thing about ISO, personally i cannot accept ISO 400 of LX3 thats why i prefer to keep ISO low, shutter increase, color will be vibrant too.... Wedding dinner type of dim is still OK i should work fine and good.
