For me I capped my ISO for night shots below ISO400.

Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100)
Aperture: f/2.0

Hi all,

Just a quick question.

I have been using NORMAL and DYNAMIC for my FILM MODE.
However, I noticed that colors look very nice and vibrant on my LCD, but when exported to computer, they look dull. Especially the skin tones.
I am pointing to straight out from cam. Using Jpgs. I hope not to have to edit my pix from LX3.

Anyone noticed this too?

Hi, if u mean e images look a tad underexposed on the computer monitor, it happens to me as well.

this is a sample pic. straight out of cam, no processing. exif present. seems ok when view with clubsnap gallery.




if it is not too much trouble, save the file and look.
i am viewing using PS and Vista Windows Photo Gallery. Amazing thing is the pic looks perfect in the preview thumbnail, but looks sort of desat (as if there is not enough dynamic range) in the full preview (when you double click on the thumbnail). it looks like there is a red or magenta tinge.
the pic looks like there is a lack of contrast. like shadows being pushed up and highlights dragged down in PS "curves"

u must change the LCD setting. It is too bright and will mislead u.

Here's a pic i took with my LX3 2 last Saturday at boat quay & the other one taken at the other side....around almost 7pm
not sure if this is good or not, exposed or not....but it's kinda dark to me....am still a noob soz.


any tips to improve?

Chopper, the image says : it says ; f/2.8 at 1/200 secs , ISO 80

This one is a bit blurrish, not sure why, auto shake is at mode 1
it reads : f/2.8 at 1/6 secs, ISO 80

To Stagheart: Increase your ISO to 200-400 for evening to night shots. ISO 80 is for those with super steady hands.

If you die die want to use ISO 80, then use a tripod or place the camera on a flat surface.

Stagheart: Get a gd understanding of the fundamental using shutter/aperture/iso to get the right exposure. Go to newbie corner and check out the basic information.

although it shows dslr and their interchangable lens, it applies to all photography especially when LX3 can be used in full manual mode.

Normally for me, to get a steady pic using hand-held... 1/20th is my own minimum shutter speed. Going slower than tat will result in blurish pic unless special effect tat i nid

I can see 1/6th... which is too slow. Like wat gibberi3h said, the only thing u can adjust is to boost up your ISO or u might wan to increase your aperture size (reduce the f-stop value) to f/2.4.
WARNING: The depth of field (DOF) will be shallower at big aperture.

try using mode 2 to reduce the cam shake.

To overcome the underexposed problem, i usually set the EV to +1/3. It seems to work well for me so far.. =)
