Resurrecting this thread since i just got my a99 recently. While the a7 is a great camera, a99 is just awesome.

here to share some pictures on the A99.. i feel its a highly underrated camera. kinda sad to see this thread inactive.

there are times when i would wanna jump back to either the canon 5DMK 3 or a Nikon, but whenever i hold on back to the A99..the feeling is always good and feels right..

I think A7 and A7r took the thunder away from A99.. it's a very good cam I was using A77 before and was really thinking hard to get this but getting old so I opt for thee Mirrorless (NEX7 and now A7r) I noticed you like your pix tone slightly muted or nostalgic feel to it... somewhat film type I like such also

My gut tells me there just aren't that many A99 users in Singapore, or in the world.

The A99 sensor gave birth to a whole new generation of camera. not to mention the RX1- was a revolutionary cam back then..the release of the A7 seems to have caused its death..sony kinda shot themselves in the foot..but none the less. gotta applaud sony for making a very daring move that the competitors dare not.

the only thing i really really hope for in the Alpha system is..... A 45mm TILT SHIFT LENS LIKE THE CANON and NIKON!!! the freaking schneider tilt-shift is too expensive..

slap the Zeiss Logo (for any genre-specific lens) on it, and it'll easily match the Schneider in price

I believe its with the branding, because the camera world dominated by Nikon and canon, even when you think abt it from a gear and accessories stand pt, 3rd party supplier like sigma tamron are taking a longer time to launch the sony mount products.
2nd hard market demand for sony's product is also very low.

plus- not forgetting all your peers all going- WHAT!! SONY!! why u wanna do that! come to nikon- which your canon friends would go..come to canon!!!

Guess its like running shoes.. everyone usually only think of Adidas and Nike - but there are tons of good brands like Newton , asic , saucony, Vibram, Brooks.

just my opinion guys! yes we shd keep this alive.

Yes we should- actually the weight is one of the lightest, if you compare with the D800/600, 5Dmk 3. Do not compare with the other models's as they are in a different league. these are the few which is suppose to be in the same league- the D600- hmm its suppose to be a step lower down then the A99.
