Yup was using tripod for this shot. Settings as per below

1/10 secs, f11, iso 100.

U R getting good in landscape shots bro... Keep it up...

Went to the SEA Aquarium last Monday with the RX1 and RX100. Pretty amazed by the high iso performance of the RX1, although it is quite the challenge nailing shots of the moving fishes in the low-light surroundings with the RX1.

1) This was taken in RAW and converted to Jpeg, very good performance at ISO 8000

I'm slowly getting poisoned by RX1 threads... thou what's stopping me is my concern about the AF speed... I typically shoot my kid at home without flash although the low light performance for my NEX-7 is good, I wish it was less noisy at ISO 1600. I typically use my Zeiss 24mm so the 35mm of the RX1 is a good match.

Sigh... too bad I can't find a place to rent one and try it out... For now, have to keep my hands in my pocket to avoid an impulse buy... ;p

heh. my baby (4 months old) move so much that i cant really get a good shot. have to manual focus, and snap snap snap and hope to have a good shot.

and wish Sony comes out with their own wide angle coverter for RX1. something like the GR GW3

overall am happy with the pic esp. B&W.

for such incidents, u can opt to use bracketing or mutliple frames and you may capture a moment that's a keeper.

At the moment I do have many keepers and I like taking photos at f1.8.. thou shooting at f1.8 is a double edge sword... it give me the nice bokeh I like but due to the fact I'm shooting a subject which hardly sits still, I need a decent shutter speed to avoid subject motion blurr. Hence the need to push up the ISO occasionally and the fast AF requirement...

I do get nice results from using my Zeiss 24-70mm with the LA-EA2 on the NEX-7. It solves the AF problem but its seriously hefty and I need to push up the ISO a fair bit to get enough light since its a f2.8 only; hence the noise problem.

Maybe I'll just stick my hands in my pocket until they come up the next version with hybrid AF like the NEX-6... besides, that's what I did when the NEX-5 first came out and I held out until the NEX-7 came out...

goodness.... RX1 shots are freaking sharp! hmmm........this makes me wonder
