Use manual focus. Or focus on something that was at the infinity distance like a cloud or sometime like that, then re-compose on the blue sky. Close your aperture smaller, so as to achieve a deeper depth of field.
Tried last saturday with the Demo Set at Canon Vivo City, the AF is fast nowa bit tempting to buy. I believe they have updated the firmware on the demo set over there. Well, go and try urself

I've tried the EOS M today @ Vivo, nice little bugger but doing my own online reading
there are/were some bad comments about it, checking out youtube also gave me a
50-50 answer. one even compared it with Sony Nex7.
I just find EOS M nicer, the AF on the smaller lens seems to have really slow shutter
the bigger lens seems OK on auto focusing. any one knows why ?
Also checked out the 5D/6D etc and compared the prices and there are almost the same
$1K + Shouldn't the EOS M be much cheaper ?
Another question, where's a good place to buy EOS M these days ? Retail price @ vivo

What are you talking about? 5D/6D costed 1k+? 5D classic might cost 1k+ second hand, 5DmkII would cost around 2k 2nd hand, and 6D will too... first hand? 5D classic is long discontinued so you will never get that, 5DmkII and 6D is not that cheap... what you see might be in US$ (even then it is quite impossible). If you are going to compare then at least compare 2nd hand product with 2nd hand product, which mean, 2nd hand 6D with 2nd hand EOS-M and you will see how cheap EOS-M can be (remember also to take into consideration of kit lenses).
Plus EOS-M is a small little camera while 6D and 5D are monsters compared to it. For travelling it is pretty alright (small, nifty and produce quite a good image quality)...
Plus I hope you do understand the difference between Fullframe and APS-C sensor.

Add a couple of hundred (200~300) and I can get bulky-but-professional looking ones.
Its the slow-shutter I am talking about, on the 22mm taking pictures (with the demo set), it took like 2~3 secs for it to
snap. on the 18~55mm it was pretty quick of less than a split second. I was just playing with it and since it is a demo
set, settings could have been changed. I didn't want to bother the staff as I wasn't ready to purchase at retail price
I love the size of the EOS M, shots taken (in this thread) looks really good.

700D/650D and EOS-M shared the same sensor, almost the same innard (with EOS-M being a mirrorless), as of such, I would not expect their price to be too much of a different, of course I would expect the EOS-M to be cheaper but not much cheaper.
As to the 22mm being slow... there might be a magnitude of reasons. First, it might be focus hunting... due to various reasons... For a more accurate test, you should use the same body for both lenses (not sure if you have already done that) and compared the result instead of using two bodies each with a lens. It might be the body's problem instead of the lens or vice versa.

May be the slow shutter is come from slow focusing.
EOS-M new firmware will fix the slow focus issue

Some great shots on this thread. The food shots made me feel quite hungry. This is a super little camera and I can't work out why there has been so much griping. With the EF-M 22mm STM pancake lens attached the EOS M is almost as portable as my S90, but the image quality is better than my 40D. The little 90EX flash works well and is also very portable. The EF-M 18-55mm STM IS has a very handy zoom range and the very effective four-stop IS has allowed me to handhold at 1/8s with good results. Using the EF-M adapter the camera can accept all of my EF and EF-S lenses, which makes it a very versatile system. If I want, I can add a large Speedlite or use my ST-E2 to control off-camera Speedlites. What is there not to like?
The AF isn't the fastest available, but it's certainly not bad and the V2.0.2 firmware upgrade was a big improvement over V1.0.6. The battery life isn't great and you definitely need two, or even three, batteries if you plan to do a full day's shooting. There is no PC sync socket, but I think that's the same for the 6D. I can't wait to get my hands on the new EF-M 11-22mm UWA lens, but haven't seen it yet.
