lovely! i really enjoy the photos being posted here, makes me wanna go out and shoot the whole day! unfortunately i do not have the skills to match haha.

just wondering why there is no separate thread for discussions other than photo sharing? or perhaps there was one last year but was pushed way back due to inactivity? lol looks like there are really very few M users here, what a pity.

Lol. Cos in the previous thread. There r lots of non eos m user complaining n complaining. So ballan simply start this page to let the photos do the talking.

i see. i only bought my set a few weeks ago, so was unaware. so i guess it's up to the few remaining fans like us to keep this thread alive haha. their loss and our gain!

i used to own an af speed monster like the nikon d3s, yet the slow af on the M does not bother me at all - in fact i find it quite acceptable. am also quite pleasantly surprised how well it can focus low-contrast scenes. the image quality of course is also amazing.

Thanks longj49 :) shoot more, practice more and skill will improve, one of the reason for me to get the EOSM - do more shoot..haha

The slower auto focus (compare to 5d3 & 7d) make me want to think a little ahead of what may happen when I used it to take some photos of my friend's kid. But it acceptable with a few misses. There are times when it faster to use manual focus. I pair it with the 40mm lens and like what the cam can produce.
A great little solid camera with gd IQ. Of cos the noise control isn't that gd when compare to my much bigger 5D3.

Agree with you, it doesn't bother me too :) For time being, I use it mainly for my portrait shoot and some landscape, of course I won't use it for sport or event..haha

I won't compare the AF with 1DX or even 5D3, if high AF is needed, better go for Cam like D3S, 7D, 5d3 or even D4, 1DX..EOSM is not design for high speed AF..but still faster than my MF Zeiss and Samyang lens I used to own..lol

The reason I get the EOSM, is because of it small size ( yet pack with APS-C sensor) IQ, and I can use all my Canon lens if I need to..

Thanks Ballan for starting this thread. Perhaps we can also discuss everything about our EOSM in this thread beside sharing photos :)

Next thing to try out..EF50mmF1.8 on it..it produce good bokeh ( and light in weight) as compare to th 50mmF1.2 ..

Can't compare to our 5D3 in noise, IQ, AF... which is 4 time higher in price :)

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. Btw, the first pic was also at f1.8? Seems like at bigger f-stop.

still no news on firmware update, hope Canon has not forgotten us with the launch of the new models.:dunno:

Thanks :) Yes, is F1.8..it look like bigger f-stop to me too, maybe the background is too near to the "bear".. And I'm standing a bit far from the object, so the DOF is not that much..

Very nice shots well done

Thanks :)

Haha..please try it :) Actually want to get more bokeh out of the 50F1.8 but at the same time to check the lens sharpness on our EOSM. Would say meet my expectation :) must try on portrait shoot during weekend...hehe
