You have a great sense of shapes, symmetry, architectural lines and so on. Framing is always excellent. Very inspiring.

yeah.

And to think that ppls keep saying Sg very small place and got nothing much to shoot.

You sure have opened our eyes.

I find the one with cat and dog interesting. :bsmilie:

Felt inspired. Keep up the good work

Yang Fei, utmost admiration of your works. What I truly admire most is your guts to resign in 2002 and go on a backpacking photographic tour, not knowing what the future will bring. Well, you never know what will happen until you take the first step, and I am sure you have never looked back since then. Keep on shooting photos with your heart! Do let us know when your works are published in printed books.

thank you all, truely.

I have been off and on living in Singapore since 1997. I really could not sleep well if I do not have some good shots from Singapore.

u know... its sad dat it takes an outsider to tell us, Singaporeans, dat our country is not a boring place to shoot... me also a guilty party.... :embrass:

good stuff, starwanderer! i hope when u published ur pics in a coffee table book, u'll let us know?

I'm in awe... U have shown us that there's so much still to capture on our island state... very inspiring...

great works... you see things that us normal singaporeans tend to neglect or see less...hehe. really inspiring

I would like to say thanks for the pictures. I live in Germany and these pictures make me so homesick! I can't wait to come home.

why? It's normal..cuz everything seems everyday to us and we got fixated with what we see everyday that we did not try new perspective. But I must say that there are a few Sporean CSers too have some knack of shooting Sg in interesting perspective.

Hi Fei, obviously you know singapore than i do, it is also the reason that your singapore picture is one of the best i have seen. it is very nice because every picture has a story behind.

I am inspired too by this thread, 'understand it better, and you will do better'. cheers for singapore :)

ur pic is extremely beautiful! its like an open eye of looking at the other side of Singapore. U got the eye of the stuff. Nice series on ur web site too. U inspire me ;)

thank you all, once again.

I got a few PMs and emails regarding technical and equipment details, here it is (apologies i did not reply individually):

before I decided to go professional in July 2005, the equipments I use were:

Digital Cameras: Canon G1, Pro1,

Film cameras: EOS30,500N,300V.

Lenses: Canon EF28-105, 28-135IS, EF50F1.8, Sigma 17-35, 70-300APO.

I now use Canon 1ds Mark II digital camera, EF28-135IS is still my primary lens.

Tripod: Gitzo1227MKII with Velbon 273QL ball head.

For streets and candids, ISO 1600 is usable on Canon 20D, 350D, 1ds Mark II, 5D, combined with IS lenses, there is little ground to use flash. I have a 420EX flash, but I now use it less and less. 99% of my photos are on available light.
