Haha... u guys are fast man. Okay, here's my take. Newbie shots, so don't expect too much ya? =)

How how??

great shots! had a quick question: do you have a filter up on your kit lens when shooting these? UV or something?

I think it is important to protect whatever lens you're using with a filter. Standard one would be to use a UV filter. My Hoya HMC filter got smashed up last week in a minor inncident, so I found the perfect reason to get a B+W UV filter as replacement. Feels good using it! :)

No prize for guessing right and no punishment for wrong one. So.. no harm guessing right? :)

The glare of the lights suggest me that the lens used by Obewan has Canon characteristic.

yup, i used a b+w filter for my kit lens.

Great outing~! Mine photos are still in the camera... still got 5 shots left..

ah okay. reason i asked was coz of the flaring in some of the shots. after doing some test shots (d70 with kit lens as well) ive realized that the filters made flaring alot worse on the kit lens. i didnt, however, get to try with those expensive multi coated filters though. but for now, the cheapo filters stay off my lens unless necessary.

Sorry for gatecrashing ..I miss the outing.. read the post late but i went a day later and shot these at the esplanade

Flare is caused by excess light at some angles, that's why the len hood is created to reduce the stray light entering the glass, especially for WAs, that's why len hood are important, but some seem to jeer and think otherwise... just me 0.02c

If you are pointed to join the photo in photoshop. Sure, we can meet up and show you directly. Actually photoshop CS got the function of auto join the photo but i felt that the result is horrible...so normally i do it manually..

Besides, there is some software can do the panorama too~

ehh.. I am one of those that think otherwise... hoods make usage of filters difficult and screams out attention especially when doing street photography. I keep all my hoods in their lens boxes. If u know where to point your lens, flaring is not a problem anymore :)

The hood of a lens is like a bumper to a vehicle. Sometimes even you don't bang people, people can bang u. That's why it's coined as accidents. Use with caution if you go hoodless.
