Haha. I'm only able to afford d b+w filter 46mm for d ultron 28-2.0 if I get that tomm. If not then need a 39mm b+w filter for overworked's ultron 35-1.7. Choices choices. ZM is good but too wide at 21mm for me now. Critical limitation this month, outta budget. Haha. Tks for keep posting such poisonous BnS posts ar bro. Lol

Ultron 28mm will be around 42mm for a 1.5x crop sensor. A 21mm or 25mm may suit you more?

bad news.

my old friend invited me out to shoot with him.

and when he found out that i have a NEX-7 with M to E adaptor... he was so happy.

turns out that he's got an M9 and wants to poison me with his lenses.

so much for being friends

That's what friends r for lol

That's a very nice friend you have there!

I will only share my Leica lenses with my best friends too, since some of them cost more than the Leica M9 body. Precious glass priced like gold!

Do try out the 35lux or 50lux, and if he has a Noctilux, you must try it!

I have been comparing my M9 with 50lux vs my Nex 7 with CV35mmF1.2II, since they are about the same focal length after the Nex 7 1.5x crop. The 50lux will demo how sharp a Leica can be, which is sharper than the CV35mmF1.2II!

on another note:

50mm F1.4 Summilux going for $2,700!!! SO CHEAP

Try the 50lux first before you decide on the Voigtlander 50 F1.1. Really a different league in sharpness. Can't explain more until you try it.

Leica Summilux comes with different version. The latest version is the best ever made with the sharpness and smooth bokeh. Older Summilux can be bought at a much lower price than the latest model, which I bought at $5,300 a year ago for a nice Chrome set.

For older Summilux, they are not made with the Aspherical elements, which Leica priced most of them double compared to their non-asph ones. There are Leica users who love the classical look in IQ using older summilux, adequate sharpness with classical bokeh. The latest ASPH version focus on extreme sharpness with similar or better bokeh, thus quite a lot more expensive.

Walk around Peninsula shops for the old Leica lens to know roughly market price (mark down their prices of course, as the shops are over pricing some old lenses as well).

Happy to discuss more on Leica lenses if you need more info since I have been a Leica M9P user for quite a while. Don't want to get out of topic. You can PM me.

I think for street walkabout shooting... 42mm of actual focal length is good enuff for me... I have the sigma 19mm for normal landscape shots... covered my landscape-street-portrait range... LOL. Tks...

you're not off-topic. you're very much in the same topic of poisoning :bsmilie:

PM U n get poisoned deep deep ar? LOL... Leicas r Leicas... Every photographer's dream lens at d end of d day... Especially d Noctilux 50-0.95...

Agree... talking abt Leica lenses stays within d topic as indicated... lenses that r good enuff for the NEX-7... LOL

But the 28mm F2 is not the same league as the 35mm F1.7 Ultron ASPH. Try first for both.

Have tried the Noctilux 50 F0.95. Don't think it will be for everyone as it is so huge!

If you like extreme sharpness, the Noctilux is not your choice. 50lux is the best in sharpness and nicest bokeh (after 50Noctilux). But for bokeh alone, 50 Noctilux will be the one.

That's why it is not for everyone, as I think sharpness and portability will be critical for me.
