Photozone: Most current NEX lenses are not good enough for the NEX-7!

Have you tried the most compact one: Zeiss 35mm F2.8 ZM C Biogon?

OMG! It is so sharp and highly resolving wide open that really maximise the Nex 7 resolution!

It is sharper than my CV35F1.2II and the lens is so tiny that really can't tell it's "power"!

On the Nex 7, it looks like a pancake lens but looks really cool. Makes the Nex 7 really what it should be: Compact, light and portable, with a lens to maximise the highest resolution!

This lens is really perfect for street shots with it's extreme sharpness and portability.

For those looking for superb bokeh, this may not be the lens with F2.8 at the widest. But Carl Zeiss has made this lens the sharpest and lightest for mobility and it supercedes it 35mm F2 in sharpness wide open.

Will find time to post some sample shots. This looks like a perfect lens to get for my Nex 7, since I am using it mainly for streetshots and landscape.

And the 35mm F2.8 C Biogon is cheaper than 21mm or 25mm. Apparently, there is no visible magenta cast with this lens, compared to the 21mm, 25mm, 28mm and 35mm F2 that I tested.

And Good News: It is only selling at around $1250!

went to try Biogon T* 2,8/21 ZM & Biogon T* 2,8/25 ZM . find the focus smoother than CV.

si beh ex siah..
Biogon T* 2,8/21 $1.8k +!
Biogon T* 2,8/25 $1.6k +!

but very small and light..

My CV 35mm is good for low light shots. But will not bring out for streetshots and family outing, as it is too heavy and too taunting.

This 35mm F2.8 looks really "innocent" and should not get too much attention when shooting on the streets.

Anyway, will not use the widest aperture with my CV35f1.2 for street shots as well, as it is too "thin" DOF to capture anything useful. Normally use F5.6 to F8, which kind of defeats its purpose of the F1.2.

Tried the CZ35mm F2.8 and it serves my needs best with sharpness from F2.8 onwards.

Personally, anything between 24-28mm will be good for street and architectural shots (CZ or CV lenses will be great, Leicas r too ex...) I will use my Sigma 19mm for landscape shots... Need something wider? Then gotta BBB... LOL

It depends on your preference.

I have been used to 50mm lens for street shots with full frame M9P as not the daring type who will walk really close to take shots and interact with people. 35mm with 1.5x crop of Nex 7 will just be around 52mm, which serves me better. With this super small CZ35f2.8, I can just turn the aperture to F5.6-F8, and the DOF will open up to take almost all sharp images, saving time for just composing the pictures.

eundure!~~~ wait till sept~~~

Thoth. buy buy buy!!

d CZ 35-2.8 is outta my comfort zone now... LOL... Will be looking at CZ Distagon 28mm f2.8 or CV Ultron 28mm f2.0 first... Slowly ya... Still need to buy CF tripod, NEX flash (if needed)... BBBVirus very deep...

the Zeiss ZM 35mm F2.8 C Biogon looks more tempting. kakakaka

guess u reserve it already ?

Haha... Frankly, all M mount wide angles are a little pricey especially those very well made ones. No need to go for anything wider than F2.8 as you will not use this aperture for street shots. F5.6-F8 is good enough as long as it is a sharp lens.

 bo lui liao lo...

N yes... also need to reserve $$$ to buy d RX100... LOL... So gotta cut bk on getting the CZ 35-2.8 though it's d sharpest 35mm around, edging even the Leicas... LOL
:bsmilie:

Why would you need a RX100 when you have a Nex 7 which is compact enough?

The sensor size of RX100 is a little bigger than most compact, but still far from your Nex 7!
