Photozone: Most current NEX lenses are not good enough for the NEX-7!

It's pretty obvious Sony copied the idea which is a good thing. Zooming will be much smoother during video and AF will be quiet coz those lenses are meant to be for video.

I guess Sony must aim for what d consumer wants... AF Zoom lens is good when it offers superb sharpness & IQ

Hmm... doesnt look attractive to me. I'll stick to my CV & CZ MF lenses & saving up for my Leica Elmarit R 180mm f/2.8 E67 lens instead. Unless Sony can provide really awesome lens lineup for d NEX system... (G or CZ lenses)

yeah. think more suitable for ppl who take video

Bro Errz... wat do u think of the earlier versions of Lux 35mm f/1.4? If given a choice other than the FLE version, which version will u buy? Pre ASPH or ASPH?

i didnt really check up on the lens cause i'm not getting it anytime soon ($$). :bsmilie: best to check with Zoomz.

if the pricing is abt $1k diff.. i rather go for the better one..cause i dont want spend $$ already then heart still itch. :bsmilie:

I checked on some prices n reviews by Ken Rockwell... Seems Pre ASPH version 1 and 2 Lux 35-1.4 is still quite popular due to its light weight and petite ergonmics. D price is around 2k for used. D newer ASPH version are around 3.5k for used and FLE r a whopping 5k plus... In terms of performance, if @ f/1.4, ASPH & FLE r definitely sharpner across the frame than the Pre ASPH but at ard f/2.8, it pretty much catch up with the ASPH & FLE versions. Also, Bokeh seems better on the Pre ASPH versions... Hmm... D price differences r quite huge comparing all 3 versions...

Bro ZoomZ to comment?

Bro, i think the pre-ASPH 35lux is about 3k plus and the ASPH pre-FLE is about 4.5k. FLE should be more about 7k. Price varies depending on condition I guess. The pre-ASPH has this 'leica glow' as they called it when used wide open. The ASPH version is clinically sharp modern lens. Well it depends on what type of look you are looking for.

Also the ASPH version is significantly larger than the pre-ASPH version.

D question is if it is worth it to get the ASPH version to haf the clinical sharpness all around @ f/1.4? D Pre ASPH version is sharp at the centre @ f/1.4. D difference to 1.5k meaning I can get another good lens wif this additional cash... LOL

Well worth is up to individual i guess. Both of them renders differently. The pre-ASPH has a more classical rendering while the ASPH has a more modern look. But with the $1.5k difference, you can get the ZM biogon for the modern look too. Try both and decide lah hahaha.

Yeah... if cant find a good copy of 180mm f/2.8 Elmarit R E67 lens at a good price... Y not? D Leica "glow" seems interesting... LOL

Biogon doesnt work well wif NEX 7... Google around d review for it... Distagon will be better...

Hmm....your Ultron has the modern look too. Save the $1.5k for other lens!!

A good telephoto lens will be a good addition... if got spare change, can get a good CF tripod too... Haha

Initially I thought a retrofocus design like the Distagon would be perfect but it still requires cornerfix. The only wide lens that I have tested without significant colour cast is the Sigma 19mm and the WATE ... and the WATE at $5k+ a pop might as well buy a D800e :)

I think if use on NEX-5N..no issue.

WATE is definitely outta my league... LOL... D 19mm is really sharp and good on the NEX 7 but somehow still lack of character of the classic legacy CV, CZ or Leica lenses offer... Difficult to explain but once comparing the photos on d Sigma and other photos from those legacy lenses... just feel this way... Is it me only feeling this way???

It's a CV... and CV is definitely replicating Leica lenses in some ways but at a much cheaper cost... Still... yr CV 35-1.2 ASPH 2 isnt cheap ya... Haha... Who knows, I might get it if I can get used to the weight. My Ultron is just so compact and light... and not to mention, sharp and nice Bokeh too... Dilemma Dilemma...
