Don’t mean to hijack this thread but have some info to share. If you are also a DSLR user, this may of interest to you, otherwise pls ignore this message.

Last weekend, we did some lens evaluation jointly sponsored by Tamron and MS Colour.

Lenses tested were:
1. Tamron 90mm 1:1 Macro
2. Tamron 17-35mm
3. Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8

Some test shots
here.

These 3rd party lenses are good and worth considering.

Hi Nova 19

Sorry I have not been keeping track of this thread for some time..i noted that the second day will focus on uw photography? Will it be intensive on this area? Coz I absolutely dont do underwater photography, and if that is the case, it may be better for someone with a real interest to replace for session 2. Not sure what you think? Thks.

I mean its already apparent that we are having this course specially catered to divers....its v clear right? Anyway since there are many non divers who expressed interest, I felt that its good to share the knowledge.

if any other diver is keen, just make arrangements where necc. Inform me if you have special requests will do.

just to further elaborate...the so called underwater focus will be on tips/suggestions to correct bluish/greenish pictures...etc...

I think actually this can be applied to other forms of photography where u want to get rid of a certain tone in the picture....

well if u are not a diver, i do suggest you try diving too =) den slowly try underwater photography.

thks for the clarification on the course..i am fascinated by the fantastic sights of diving..the recent nat geo mag has this fantastic picture of a fire urchin..absolutely the most beautiful picture i have seen..however..its also an ex hobby..and i'm not a very water-confident person (though i know most people say you dont have to be a good swimmer to dive)..=)

Getting a correct white balance in UW photography is often a challenge, which I believe the divers here are experts in this area. The same technique can also be applied when shooting indoors, dealing with multiple artificial lightings. Will be sharing what I know during the training.

Please take me out cos on duty
