Photokina 2010

Beautiful cameras, Chiif. Hope that you are having a wonderful time at Photokina.

Just 1 question - Do you see a filter thread on the Fujinon 23mm f2?

Good question! I'm not 100% sure. Will go back tomorrow and check it out.

with so many compacts around.

will this last??? or even sell???

if this uses a full frame sensor , I think it will be a hit !!!

This is different... None of the compacts in the market works and feel like a old rangefinder camera. The basic fact that it looks like an old RF, will be an instant hit with old man like me. :bsmilie:

Most of the major manufacturer are focusing on 3D now. Most compact also spot the sweep panorama mode. All these are software based and it will continue to be evolutionary and obsolete with latest technology. But styling something that is old is going to be pretty revolutionary and should capture silver hair market like me... hahahaha... :bsmilie:

Putting a full frame sensor on it today will make it cost more than the X1. Which will make it a instant failure. If this cost half the price of the X1, it will definitely be a seller!

Heard a rumor that Nikon is going to come out something very similar to this and it's interchangable lens!

This gets me super excited! Stock up all the S mount now!

 the titanium lens hood looks like a blender blade

Wow,... and if the price is also right, that will change everything.

Boss when will you be back? ((:

I think this one create more buzz than the titanium futuristic machine...

On engadget they quote $1000USD - good competitive price...

I juz realised the x100 got AF-C ( focus tracking ), giving face recognition & focus tracking off the chip. Imagine the possibilities for street shooting as the subject walks into the x100 framelines....

X100 available in March 2011 for the very "cheap" price of $1000USD

All work and no play makes chiif a dull boy....

Here are some shots from the best digital camera in the world...

that looks like sweeping panorama mode from NEX-5

Its iPhone. Didn't bring that along this time. Anyway, I can't get the sweep pano mode to shoot below 1/500s. Any guru can share how?

Today is workshop day!

Attended Joe McNally's workshop about using flash for his commercial works. An eye opening experience. A very down to earth and nice guy. An internationally acclaimed and award winning photographer whose works have been frequently published by the National Geographic.

Next, Tim Mantoani. Another down to earth photographer based in California. Spent about 2 hours sharing with the public on using light for assignments and his personal project on Archiving Photographic Legends.
