Agreed, i support this suggestion!

Fengwei's organising a meetup at that coffeeshop tomorrow. Hope you guys can walk over (and walk off the lunch!) after that. I'll try to make it, but am meeting friends, so not sure if I can.

Thanks!

P/s: it's been a fun and interesting experience, and maybe we can hold a group photo exhibition someday for pentaxians. :)

was there this afternoon, nice photos of many smiles.... :)

Was in the Art House at noon yesterday. Nice photoes, and I appreciate the little note attached to each photo, where I learnt bit more about the country. Nicely done. Thank you!

Hi Alvan, excellent work-congratulations.
Walked over we did & signed the guest book, too. Noticed that Timor Leste's children-though obviously under-nourished; have brilliant smiles & perfectly formed teeth. You've certainly captured the essence of their joy & resilience.

Thank you, Zeroplus, Greg and HYPY13! Appreciate your visits and comments. :)

And yes, I have the habit of putting titles and long-ish (some say, longwinded) captions for my photos. After all, my rice bowl is in writing/editing. :)

Any chance you going back again?
Maybe can organize a short trip...

Congratulations. Will pop by these days.

good idea. i support that.

i was in the exbi 1/1/2012, nice and powderful pictures! congrats!

was there on the 1/1/12... nice pics and love the accompanying description. :D

Nice photos, and appreciate the descriptive captions too. Draws one even more into the picture when you know what's going/where it is. Looks like Timor Leste has plenty of untouched landscape (22 times bigger than SG you say?)

I should be conducting a follow-up workshop for a week under SIF in late Feb or early Mar this year. But it's officially "work", and not for sightseeing/leisure. :)

Thanks for visiting and for the compliments, tigershiok, grahf23, and rocaway! I'm honoured -- and dam touched -- people actually are going to the exhibition. (Had visions of the print gallery being haunted only by ghosts and the security guard. :P)

rocaway: I checked up Timor's land area and divide it by Singapore's; it's 22x bigger. Always useful to place such details in context, since I'm writing for the local audience. :)

For more updates, stories and photos which are NOT shown in the exhibition, please go to: facebook.com/oneyearintimor
It's a public fb page; anyone can access. You don't need a fb account, or to log in (unless you wish to comment).

Again, obrigado!

will be there on the 12 jan night for the talk, looking forward to meet up with you! :)

Ran into Baracus at the venue yesterday. Thanks man!

Anyway, the exhibition ends on 13 Jan, ie. in 5 days' time.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by! Really appreciate it.

p/s: I forgot to do some hard-selling of the postcards to visitors. Please buy them if you can. I know they're impractical and probably not works of art. But it is, after all, for A Good Cause. :)

Just a heads-up the exhibition will be re-run from 6 to 20 Feb, again at The Arts House.

Updates at: Facebook page

Will be adding 5 more prints, and everything's for sale with proceeds to a school in Dili, Timor Leste. :)

Will also include a "For photography geeks" note at the counter table the equipment used to take the photos: Pentax K-7, DA21, FA43, DA70. :D

Thanks! Yes, will be making minor changes, adding more info, revamping the captions a bit for second run, plus 5 new prints. :)

Do drop by, everyone!

highly recommended to visit the exhibition. was there during the first run and seeing the photos in large print was highly satisfying.
