Do you think we need a critique/issues/philosophy in photography section in clubsnap?

I think it will be a great idea if there is a section whereby people can discuss concepts, assess links to master photographer's bio, discussing their philosophy, and works. Or any other discussion relating photography with our environment, society, sociology and philosophy.

This will cater people whom are at the intermediate or advance level photography discussion, and who wishes to pursue more than what photography techniques can offer. The current general topics are still very much technical orientated. If we could cater to a wider range of audiences and critiques, the forum would be able to mature to a more international stand in long run. This may create a healthy learning environment, and may encourage maturing of photography standards not only in this forum but also the local photography scene as well. I know this may seems ambitious, and the response may not be good. However all we need now is just a section to show our awareness to existing issues in photography context.

By doing so, we are leaving rooms for active photographers to grow. Not just technically but intellectually. Some people may not be able to understand for e.g what have environmental issues got to do with photography. However we should create an awareness to such worldly issues. People can learn how to be more responsible for e.g in chemical usage, and using of any photographic materials which may harm the environment. And that all start from having the assess to such a topic.

I urge you all to consider my plans and thank you moderator for doing a wonderful job in maintaining the forum so far.

We have to thank and be grateful to all those concern
in making this young forum so successful and vibrant.

Special mention must go to all the moderators for all their
hard work, giving off their expertise, valuable time
and passionately sharing their knowledge
to fellow image makers.

This is leadership by example indeed.
You have all done Singapore proud.
I am really proud of all of you. Not to forget the many
