ya say whats the compensation, freelance photographers are not looking to build portfolio... they are looking for paid jobs!
its different with newbies building portfolios...
and if its a commercial job, dont say its to build portfolio, dont be a cheepo! if you're getting paid for your commercial job, pay the photographer as well! dont hide behind the phrase 'build portfolio' thats crap!

Yup i definitely agreed what red eye said. We're all are photographers here, and we need a few bucks for living. if you are finding photographer doing as a hobby and not for earning then u should find photographers those who doing TFCD shoots not we freelance photographer. Even if we are building our own portfolio, we need to earn, that is what "FREELANCE" is for....not free photography services..i know what you are thinking...u think Clubsnap photographers always do free for charge shoot? then why do we need this portal for service wanted?...Those newbies now a day really very jialat...not i want to offence them, they are learning yes we all are learning but u are affecting our market by pulling ur rates down in order to attract more clients to find you for the shoots...if next time you getting proer, u wanted to charge for higher rates.. will there be any more clients returning back to u again? what a disappointment...

Maybe a separate section is not required but have a template like the buy & sell? Need to fill in the important parts like : Date , Time , Pay/compensation

Fantastic, time for consumer education.
It would be good to also add a template what client wants, :Editing, Black&White, slim down waist and face, make face smooth, size of prints, albums.
There seems to be a massive misconception out there amongst people about what the term "Free Lance" means. It does not mean shoot for free, nor work for next to free. It means a working professional photographer that is not bound to shoot exclusively for a particular studio/company/outfit. Literally it means you are a free agent to work with who ever and charge a real world price that is to say a commercially workable price that allows you to do you know those things "normal" people do - eat, go holiday and otherwise enjoy life along with paying off the cost of being a photographer.
Some times I think some people think its "Free Lunch" with the photographer providing the lunch. This who thing sounds a lot like the model agency "you want jobs ? You need training and portfolio that will be $800 do not worry sure can earn back in 1st job. You got the potential....."
